Hi,

we received our ITA on the 16/1/06 and were very happy about it, because we were selected on the 7/12 and thought we would not get it (because of the new changes).

It would be very good for us if we could leave here on the 31/5, because mainly of financial reasons, but now we are a bit worried: is it allowed to finish the immigration process in NZ? In case we don't have the interview then or whatever, can we do 'the rest' there?

I hope it is understandable what I wrote, I can't explain it better :no .

Thank you for answering and regards from cold Germany
Malin

Dear Malin,
I'm sorry I haven't got any helpful information for you, but just wanted to welcome you to the forum! Someone here will know the answer to your question, I'm sure.
All the best,
Gil
PS It's really cold and damp here in Wales, too. (No surprise to the rest of the UK!)

Malin,
I think you can finish the whole process of the migrating over in NZ soil...I think it's even better. But I am not 100% sure as I don't have the experience.
However, I believe there are some members of the forum did it with that route.

Welcome aboard to this forum.

Hi Milan and welcome to the forum,

In answer to your question it is possible to finish off the immigration process in NZ if need be and of course your situation will be a factor. But I guess you have a very good chance of getting your visa before you leave after all it's not for another 5 months.
Best of luck and do keep us up dated.........David :nice1

Thank all of you for your friendly answers -

Smiler, we applied for PR and have no job offer yet, (which doesn't surprise me, in our jobs I also would just employ people I have seen and smelled before :p ) but of course we put our feelers out (right expression?) and received good feedbacks. We had a NZQA pre-assessment result of Level 8 (me) and 10 (husband), so I think we will find jobs - one of my educations is social worker which I found surprisingly on the short-skilled-list. We have money enough to survive 6 month without a job and I had the great luck to be allowed to take a sabbatical, which leaves us a small backdoor if things go or feel wrong.

David, I hope also that we finish everything before the end of may, but after reading all these threads I have this "you never know" feeling and I belong to these persons who have to act out (play through? don't know... ) all variations to feel sure :) .

However - your words have all the letters in the right order which is more than I can say about my posts :)

Ive also seen a few people start at home and finish here - all you really seem to need to do is keep NZIS informed at all times.

So go for it! And well done on getting a sabbatical - we had one too and it really did give us a feeling of security when we came out.

Yep, we started the process at home, came over once EOI selected and did the rest from here - no probs - and, at the time, quicker than UK in terms of processing and the medicals are cheaper here. :D
