Thats interesting, as many people here advised me that may be my best option to getting into NZ. Long holiday and find work etc..

I'm not so unusual after all !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

It's the only route for those of us without job offers who can't get jobs over the internet/email. As job offers become so much more important now that the points system has changed then i guess this approach is only to grow.

It costs loads though as you have to support yourself until you find a job. It's also got a very 'temporary' and unsettling feel to it (as my previous postings may show). It's by no means the 'easy option'. If i had 5 more points and could have got PR before i cam here i would have done that first. We have found employers to be really cagey about employing overseas workers and filling in the NZ1113 form - it appears only those who are really desperate take this step (which is how the system is intended to work of course).
