We are just about to send in our ITA and have added our eldest son on the application. I checked with NZIS about this and they said thats ok because he is under 24, and they want proof that he is financially dependent on us even though he lives at home, but although they were helpful, they wouldn't elaborate or suggest what was acceptable. He is 19 and earns about £700 a month after tax. I was going to send them payslips showing this, and local ads showing rental flats at £450 upwards, together with an estimate on bills and busfares to exceed his income. Anybody had this scenario before or got ideas?

Hi Charlosparky,
We had exactly the same deal with my eldest Rebecca, she was 20 at the time of applying. She is at university, so the easiest way to show dependancy in our case was to send in receipts for her accommadation and fees. Also, copies of our bank statements showing money transfers into her account.
Apparently according to my case officer, NZIS would also except receipts for clothing and the like we had bought for her recently.
Anything that proves he is still in your pocket will do mate. :D

Hope it helps ya

John
