Oh no, it's all unravelling, how daft could I have been, that'll teach me to read the whole paragraph - 3 times and then read it again!!!!!!!!

I received a letter from my case officer this morning:Please forward the following:

1. A written statement from yourself stating that you have never been convicted of an offence (including a traffic offence) committed within the last five years, involving dangerous driving, driving having consumed excessive alcohol (including drunk driving and driving with a blood or breath alcohol content in excess of a specified limit) or driving having consumed drugs.

2 Please complete the first form enclosed and sign and date the second form. This is me right now http://smileys.smileycentral.com/cat/23/23_4_131.gif

I have a speeding offence (SP70 - speeding on the motorway), so of course, I read you have never been convicted of an offence (including a traffic offence) committed within the last five years and checked the box!!!!

Ah well, it's not going to delay things as much as the blood tests, forms already signed and dated, with a covering statement, and ready to post back.

If I could give one tip to everyone it would be:

READ THE FORM, READ EVERY WORD AND THEN READ IT AGAIN!

Your friendly neighbourhood village idiot!! http://smileys.smileycentral.com/cat/23/23_4_119.gif

Ahhh, but are you the only idiot in the village :laugh :laugh ?

Hey, at least it's correctable (is there such a word). I've been guilty of similar sort of idiotic errors in the past. I'm sure you're not the first to ever get that one wrong.

Doh!!
Easily done, but as Debs says, easily handled. I rely on OH for reading accuracy, speed I can do, but he's the accuracy man!! Between us we get by......:D
When something's worth doing, obstacles and delays are bound to present themselves, so you're going through the same as everyone else who's ever followed their dream. Stick with it, and we'll see you the other side for a :cheers
Love

Hey ho! Hope hubby's feeling better...:D

Heh! As Gil and 'Debs have said, this is very easy to do.

Similar to what Dawn says in her red ink:
we reckon that, at any stage of the application, reading out loud to each other (or to a pal, depending on your personal circumstances) is a great method, especially if you read for sense... i.e., read what you and NZIS have actually put on paper rather than what you think you/they have put there. Even if the dregs of your original late-night coffee are cold and you have to make a new one to be able to focus well again.... :o

... And then, while you're up, why not have a biccie, too? :yes

... And when you're done, a Guinness? :p

I'm in the same boat, accuracy is not my forte but it is oh's so he gets to check it all. (eat shoot and leave that one)

I do the same as Matt though, read it all out loud and that really does help.

Dawn I'm sure you'll be fine. Our village idiot made it to NZ. :laugh:laugh
