Hi everybody.

Can someone out there please give me some advice ?

After our medicals on Jan 31st.,Steve and I will be ready to submit our ITA.

We have decided to submit in person and have a few days in London at the same time.

Now these are my questions:

1) Do we have to make an appointment at NZ House ? (or whatever its called)

2) Do we have to leave our passports or can we have them back same day ?

3) If we don't have to leave our passports, I presume we send them back to
be stamped with our little 'blue stickers' when/if we are granted PR, along
with our migrant levy. Is this correct ?

Cheers guys,

Julie.

I spoke to a girl from tha ITA team last month- she said they keep em untill stamped up, but we can have them back early and return them for stamping later ( as we have a holiday booked in the meantime and need ours), they are flexible. I also remember seeing a thread on this where someone said they took theirs in and they copied the passports birth certs etc while they waited. Probably best to ring them first though. ;)

Hey Julie,

I don't know if it's the same for ITAs but when I applied for the partner visa, I just popped into NZ House without an appointment and went to the Mezzanine Floor where NZIS is. I just took a ticket (permanent visas I think it was called) and waited for my number to be called. Then the girl just checked in everything was in the documents I supplied.

I didn't need my passport so I left it with them, although I think you'd just need to give certified copies if you want to keep it. I believe that NZIS will stamp any copies you will give them and will give you your originals straight back (don't quote me on that though, I'm not too sure :laugh )

When you are approved, they send you a letter advising you'd need to send them back along with the migrant levy.

Hope this helps,

Jen :)

Julie

As all the info above and we took ours up there and as Jen says no appointment needed, up to the mezzanine floor, take a ticket and then you are seen. The guy checked all our documents and gave us the originals plus passports back. That was mid july.

When we got PR late september, Gary took our passports up, made an appointment prior, left them there for an hour and went back for the magic stickers and passports.

You can send them in when you get approval but we needed ours to come here 2 days later so had no option to take them.

Cas is doing fine Julie...you know her ;) She said to say hi and glad your application going well. You better pop into Auckland when you get to NZ :laugh

I'm doing really good, loving Auckland. Got a phone call today from Air New Zealand offering me a job so even more happy :laugh

Good luck for the meds and dropping the application off, let us know how it goes!!

Promise to keep you all informed........just watch this space !

Getting quite excited now, but the long wait after we have submitted the ITA will kill me......I'm afraid patience isn't one of my virtues.

:raebanana Jen. Congratulations on the job offer. :raebanana

New Zealand Airlines eh? Now then, Pal, Buddy, O Favourite One, aren't they the ones that sell reduced air fares to friends and rellies ?? Mmmmmmmmmm ;)
Its a good job you know I'm only joking !

We've got our medicals tomorrow (eek!) and we're also taking our ITA down, because I need my passport so we can go on Honeymoon, and I'm not risking it not arriving back in time!! About how long after your medicals do you get the stuff back? is it about a week?

I'm not too sure, but I was reckoning on two weeks....someone on here will know.
