Hi All,

One of my rare posts these days, life is so busy and I tend just to browse the forum now. Life in Kaiapoi has worked out really well for us so far. We've all joined the local golf club (never played before!), it's walking distance from the house so silly not to really. :yes Andrew has settled really well into school and work is going well also. Anne is always busy sorting the house, and playing golf/going out for the meetings etc. that Nic (Kiwi) arranges. All in all it's "all good" as the saying goes here.

I don't think this contravenes forum rules, but for those who are interested I've been updating our Web site with some of the things we've been up to since we've been here. Hopefully some of the pics will inspire some of you thinking of making the journey:

If anyone wants any info don't hesitate to get in touch. :nice1

Cheers,

Mark.

Mark - great to hear from you. Glad everything's going terrifically.

Does anyone else share my perception that these last few days have turned out to be "old home week" on the forum, what with big updates and new postings from old regulars such as Mark, sarahw, and -- if I may be so bold -- us MB lot?!

Of course we're all kitted out with ear trumpets and blankets over our knees, and are just left most of the time with a glass of Skol Super 9% pressed into our claw-like hands to murmur amongst each other.... but it's nice to see, anyway. :laugh

Seriously, Mark: well done on your first months.

Hi Mark, fab pictures - i love the Lyttleton photos, and Lake Tekapo - I visited there a couple of years ago and it was stunning. Isn't it wonderful how this stuff is on your 'back doorstep' wherever you live in NZ.

All the best with the next year(s)!!!!

Hi there Mark - great to hear from you again. Every coulple of weeks or so we wonder how you are doing over there, and now we know!!

Glad to hear you've all settled so well - although we never thought that you would have any problems :) - and that you're into a permanent house so quickly.

It feels so frustrating sometimes here in the UK trying to tie all our loose ends together, so it's nice to hear updates from people who are loving it.

Woo, I've PM'd you about New Plymouth, but for others out there ... we travelled North and South Island 2 1/2 yrs ago and NP was my favourite place. We notice fairly recently that Taranaki is being marketed as 'the place to be' and house prices have shot up as a result. It's a lovely place - has the mountain (Mt Taranaki), the sea, the bush, beautiful lakes etc. all on your back door and a modern town centre with everything you need. I could go on...
