Hi all,

had a great weekend, we headed for ocean beach this time, it’s 30 to 40 mins drive. Boogie boarding was fantastic fun.
It was a lovely sunny day, around 5pm the waves started getting quite big. I’ve seen similar sized waves in Greece once. When this happened in Greece everyone got out of the water. When it happened on Ocean beach there was a mad dash into the water :laugh

One of the pictures (the sofa picture) is something I’ve seen a few times now, it tends to go like this.
Van stops, a couple of kiwis get out, drag sofa from the van, get comfy on the beach. Splendid! :nice1

I had to get a picture of the camper van too, is this how HGV drivers go camping? The roof terrace has a couple sunbathing on it, I could also see a telescope up there and I think that’s a BBQ in the corner, fantastic.

All too soon it was time to go home, on the way we stopped off to get some fruit and veg from one of the many farm shops. This one had a nice surprise in store. They sold NZ cider, I picked up a bottle and heard a voice from the back of the shop “you can’t buy that!” when I asked why the answer came back “well you haven’t tried it yet”

Well wifey was driving so she got a sip, I had two or three glasses, :uhoh so we were in the shop for a while chatting away to the guy who sold the cider (and a kiwi in there getting some cider too). The shopkeeper was really funny, amongst his antics were trying to convince me that cider kept you looking young, he told me he was 90 years old, he was under 60 if you ask me.
He then went on to try and convince me that I was pronouncing some of the local village names wrongly, and I wos told “being English I should know the correct pronunciation, since they were English names”.
You know what, if I hadn’t been to these villages and heard the locals pronounce the names I would have probably believed him. He was a real comic and a very nice man. We bought a bottle of cider and some fruit, he gave us a bottle of Scrumpy on the house.
I think they make the cider there, it’s called Ballydooly cider.

Well I hope you all enjoyed your weekend too, and I hope you like the pics.

Bob thanks for the pics. I love that place so much.

Spent most of yesterday trying to convince OH that we could buy in HB and he could commute, but he wasn't having any of it!

Love the sofa one and the semi detached on wheels, it's huge.

Enjoy the cider ;)
