OK, I know I am a little (VERY) sad but I check the timing page on the London web site every day!
Last week they took files on upto and including the 30th October (1 whole week it moved forward!) well today it says they will be dealing with file upto and including the 1st of November.
That means they have moved 1 day forward in the process in a whole week. Mine wasn't submitted until the 9th of Jan.. Am I going to be waiting forever? :wah

So they might not take months to deal with it once it has been allocated a case worker? :roll

the page changed on the wednesday to say they were dealing with upto and including the 30th Octobers......and friday rob had a msg on his mobile to call NZIS London, to arrange an interview...which he rang asap and it was set for the Monday at noon,
http://jbrunod.free.fr/toshop/smileys/VA18_T.gif I worked it out to 46hrs from the interview to the passports arriving with visas!

I know that little discoveries like this are hard, but things can change very quickly. At one point during our applcaition process I got home tired on a Friday evening but with the hope of progress on our NZIS application to keep me sparky. Well, 5 minutes later we had an e-mail saying that our interview would now probably have to be in person in Washington D.C., not over the phone... costly and time-consuming as we were in Seattle. 2 mins. after that we discovered that our London case worker had just left her desk for 2 weeks' holiday, so we didn't really have anyone to ask about this slightly worrying decision. All this just before a weekend! Even our nearest US NZIS Marketing Officer was abroad on assignment.
Anyway, by v.early the following week -- just a couple of days later -- there was a change of mind and we had a telephone interview booked, done and dusted by the end of that week. And it went really well. Passports and stickers followed soon after.
But at 6.30 pm on that Friday, things had seemed pretty grey.
So situations can turn around quicksmart!
All the best as your application progresses! :nice1

Once you get allocated a case worker it does seem to move much faster.
Hang in there, this waiting lark is the worst bit. Do all you can to prepare and get ahead, cause once the phone call comes you won't have enough hours in the day. :laugh

Nicola, I know it is easy to say once you have been through the mill, but patience is a virtue, and it will come eventually, don't worry!

Hi Nicola,
Chin up, and Stevie D said, this is just a chance to practise being patient. (Like you need one!!)
You'll be going through the mill soon enough, and the way house sales are going, you're likely to be out there before us! (Yes, that's right, you do detect a hint of house sale misery :roll)
Anyway, I know you will, but just make the most of "This is the last time we..." and you'll be off to NZ before you know it.
Love
Gil

Thanks everyone. I don't know why the wait bothers me so much anyway, we haven't even sold our house or anything! I think it's because the move won't seem quite real until we have PR. I almost feel "better not to do this or that until we know for SURE".
I know that it should all be fine and I'm feeling quite positive about the interview, but I love certainty. That's me I suppose!

If your sure that your application has sound evidence for your points etc, I'd think about getting your house on the market (with the current posts etc)
and I bet you get a call before you know it :nice1

Your right. We are planning to put it on by the end of Feb. I have lots of painting and clearing before I can sell. 2 boys, a dog and a hubby doesn't make for very clean paintwork! :no

Hi Nicola.
Guess what we are doing - decorating!!
Just had a chappie round to measure up for new carpets (neutral, of course) and they will be fitted in the next 2-3 weeks, then its the big declutter before the house goes on the market in the spring.
