Dear all,

Just checking back in again after a couple of weeks away - one week spent clearing house and cleaning for completion, second week on hols in the UK to recover!

We have had two great pieces of news, firstly our police certs came whilst we were away and I have today been to London to submit work visa applications as the police certs were the last piece of the jigsaw. We should have work visas by end of this week/early next so I am looking at flights for Tues/Weds next week - woo-hoo! :clap We are currently at the mother-in-laws and it is a hateful expereince for all concerned - the sooner we get on the flight the better!

The second piece of amazing news is that our EOI was taken from the pool a couple of weeks ago and our invitation to apply for residency came through last week! I am told there is an element of luck in being invited so soon after being drawn but also because I have a job offer from a NZ accredited employer my EOI can be processed quicker. Double woo-hoo! This makes up for the farce that is the NZQA (applied at end of June, paid "fast track" fee and still we haven't heard from them - what a joke  ).

Anyway, can't stay on as have a mound of paperwork to catch up on. Hopefully will have a chance to have a proper browse later this week. Can't believe that we are that close to getting on the plane!
