Just a quick post while avoiding doing the 6 million things that still need doing. We're off to the hotel near Stansted airport shortly for our lovely break in Rome - where I will be doing my best to destress and forget that we have PSS coming in the day after we get back to pack up our lives and ship them to the other side of the world. Have spent the week running around like a chicken without it's head - cancelling things left right and centre, cleaning, tidying, packing......and there's still so much to do but I think we've run out of time.

Will check in when we get back from our mini holiday.

Not quite as bad as sitting here waiting for your house to sell! :laugh

Debs, have a wonderful time in Roma (not that you'll need any encouragement!)
Chantell, can't wait to be in your position!
Good luck guys,
Gil

Debs

Have a lovely break, enjoy and forget about the packing for a few days.

It will all fall into place, don't worry and you'll be back on a plane but this time to AUKL before you know it.

Big hugs

Hey guys!

Hi Gil! know how you must be feeling :( it took 9 months to sell our house. after two false starts & one time waster we thought we would never sell & went away for a few days to london to 'destress' :wah anyway, to cut a long story short the phone didn't stop all weekend & after zero interest in the house we had three offers on it in the same day! unbelievable! ended up being in a situation we could never have imagined & got the full asking price to boot! :clap

the housing market seems to have leaped into action just lately, well i've seen alot of sold signs appearing, so fingers crossed you'll be looking at a sold sign pretty soon too! sending you lots & lots of good vibes! :)

hope to be celebrating with you soon

Gosh, am I being a bit stupid here? We've got the packers coming in less than 3 weeks, and we haven't actually done a thing yet. I just kind of thought that as they'll be packing us up, all I need is to take a few days to get our clothes and toys and stuff packed for the next 3 months (which could I suppose be a nightmare). What do you reckon? Am I deluded? Should I get my ass into gear?? Starting to panic now.

Have a fab time in Rome, Debs. We're off to Scotland at the weekend to say goodbye to Craig's folks. Will probably get started when we get back - I think I need to get into panic mode, or nothing will get done.

Gil - it will happen. I do understand your frustration - we were just the same. Let's hope you get lots of interest this weekend!

We could be on the same plane, we're flying also on 21st Feb, Singapore Airlines 18:15 flight :)

We have been packing for couple of weeks now. Most of the furnitures are already sold or packed so the house looks amazingly empty already.
Garage will cause trouble, if you don't have a garage you'll throw all unnecessary junk away but in our case it seems that all that junk is collected in garage.

We'll come London on previous day to get some rest before long flight. After all it take extra 4,5 hours flight just to get to London.

Hi Joopa :)

we are flying from manchester, via kuala lumpar, on the 21st Feb at 20.00. although not on the same plane, we'll be flying out to our new life at the same time, woohoo!

we sold alot of our things too & have moved in with my parents so we only have a part load to ship over to NZ. our clutter has seemed to gather in the spare bedroom...much to my fathers annoyance! :o

good luck with all your plans & keep in touch it will be great to hear how things are going for you guys.

Hi K&CS :)

not at all...our packers arrive three weeks on monday & we haven't packed a single thing yet! just thought, maybe we are all stupid & need to get ourselves into top gear! ;) must admit we pretty much thought it won't take us that long to put together what we will be taking with us...are we deluded too??? now i'm starting to panic!

good luck with your move & let us know how it's going
all our best wishes
