We just spoke to our case officer in London. Even though all of our documents (including job offer) were received, and a preliminary review of our application was done, he said it will take 1 to 1.5 weeks before a decision can be made on our application. This sounds reasonable. But then he said it would take another 2 to 3 weeks :( for us to get our passports stamped and returned. He said we can go ahead and mail our passports to London so that they'll have them in hand as soon as a decision is made.
So does this sound reasonable? We were hoping to leave around Feb 20th, but now this seems rather unlikely. We need to leave by Feb 28th - which may also be cutting things too close. Should we stay on our case officer and call him and ask about his progress? Or are we better off leaving him alone so that he doesn't get annoyed and move us to the bottom of the pile?
One more question - my husband has dual citizenship (Canada/USA - I'm Canadian only). Do they care which passport we send them for the stickers? They have certified copies of both, but do we chose which one carries the stickers?
Any info/advice would be appreciated. I guess it's time for me to learn some patience.
