Im just venting my frustration with our house sale.

Sorry

But it's sainer than shouting at the walls!

After 4 months of dithering by my OH we finally got the house on the market in the new yr. First viewing I had to cancil as I had flu and couldn't get out of bed let alone tidy the house. We had a viewing at the weekend and it seems realy positive and they wanted a second viewing today. Horray!!
This morning my son wakes up smattered in chicken pox :no
It does seem if some greater power is having a laugh at my expence.
The problem is, having read this forum over the last 18mths I know that no matter how frustrated I feel at this moment, when it comes to house sales this isn't even a speck on the tip of the iceburge that i can expect.
O' well back to the calamine lotion.
Anyone know how long chicken pox are contagious (sp), guess my daughter will have them in the next week.
Debbie. :no

Oh dear - at least you're getting interest! I can't remember how long you're contageous for - I think it could be up to a week. Once they scab over, they're no longer contageous (I remember my girls were allowed back at nursery once they'd got to that stage. They don't look pretty though!!). At least it's winter. Chicken pox in the summer is a nightmare, because the heat makes them itch more.

Hope he's better soon and that he doesn't pass them round. It really is better for them to get it although it's a pain right now!

Yep,
It could have been so much worse, like being covered in spots just as we were about to fly out, Yikes.
Have to say he is in the best mood he has been in for ages, and I called the agent and explained the situation and the couple's children have already had them so the viewing is going ahead.
So back to the hover I must go.

My doctor told me once that chicken pox is the most contagious the week before they break out, so the worst is behind you already. Good luck with the viewing today, hope you sell your house soon!

Funny you should say that Debs... We decided to come over to NZ on "holiday" and see how we went. We planned the actual trip for about 4 months and flew out in May 2004. A week before we were due to fly my step sister told me she thought her daughter had chicken pots!!!! We watched the kids closely and nothing appeared ((phew)) The day we were due to fly I found a single spot on my daughters chest (aaahhh) By the time we got to Singapore her little body was covered, we had to hide in the Burger King cause there was no way I wanted to get stranded in Singapore!!!

Hi debbie

Sorry to hear that - these things are sent to try us!! Hope your son gets better soon - my understanding of chickenpox is that it is only contagious BEFORE the spots appear; that's what my doc told me recently when we had a worry about it. Hope they go away soon, in any case!

Keep us posted, love jo x

Yipeee
or should that be Yikes
The pox couple have come back with an offer, (must have been the smell of home cooked bread and calamine lotion that did it.)
The offer if a lot lower than we want but at least someone is interested.
I have to try so hard to balance these emotions, I want to sing and jump about but know that we are such a long way off celebrating the house being sold. I at last have a reason to phone shipping agents, apply for jobs, look for NZ rental, dismantal our lives......
Must get around to telling the children that we are moving. We have keeped them protected from most of the up heavel as a 2 & 4 yr old don't understand a 'when ever/ may be never' time scale. I think if we can get a decent offer on the house it will be time to sit everyone down with a packet of smarties.

Yipeee,
Debbie

Their offer was a lot lower than the asking price so we have rejected it, well OH rejected it saying you don't take 1st offers. Me, with my stress levels, I would have bitten their hand off and offered to pack for them into the bargain.
We have to wait and see if / what they come back with now.
OH has finally felt comfortable enough to apply for a job he is interested in. He had always held of because saying to someone " he could start when the house sold" put him in too weak a possition.
Im going around like a cat on a hot roof trying to get my head around all the things we will need to do if this house thing works out. I've been planning this move for 22 months and all of a sudden I feel like I don't have a clue what I have to do.
Im sure I have a list for this somewhere.
Will let you know how we go.
