thanks beah.

the courier cost P1,901.75. I submitted all originals plus photocopies.

I checked with my credit card company and they said that the expiry date that was entered was incorrect. I already twice faxed nzis bangkok about the problem. when i checked with my credit card company again they have not received any new transaction. So I guess my payment is still pending. ALthough my status is already application received.

no news if they received it and i attempted to call them up several times to confirm but i'm answered only by voice mails. Plus its a holiday in Bangkok tomorrow! so I have to wait for three days.. grrr.

You're right on that Vincent.
I'm panicking a little right now because when I review my EOI, I'm not sure if my answers were all correct like if my undergraduate course (A.B. Economics) is relevant to my first job at a bank branch (as an online teller).
What do you think? Maybe you can help me on this.

No real news yet for us I'm afraid. :( I phoned NZIS again last week and managed to drag a bit of info out of the guy on the phone - he said that it looks like the ITA has been recommended, but couldn't tell me if/when the letter would be sent to advise this or when we would receive the pack. I suppose that's kinda good news, but I don't want to get excited until I have the ITA in my hand! :hopeso

It just seems to be taking AGES even tho I applied with me as the main applicant and my job is on the POL. What more do we need to do??? I noticed that our points also went up last week from 160 to 170 but our status is still selected - you'd have thought with that score we might be processed quickly - obviously not!

Oh well. At least we've got our 2 year work visas and we're here, so I'll just have to do the kiwi thing and be patient!

Good luck to everyone else and Happy Christmas!

Hi all - we're still waiting for our chance to successful too. :?

Called NZIS London about 2 weeks ago, to get a progress report and was told it would be sometime in January before we'd hear anything However, they must have marked our file that we called cause within the week we were sent a really useful information pack (maybe what your received too BBQ?). Also our EOI was last modified on 17 Dec and has gone up 5 points (in the work experience area so think this was to do with the changes in OSL and POL etc).

So all we can do is :hopeso but reading your posting makes us more hopefull also that it looks like things are finally moving! Forum member Nick Braddock has just gone successful today - read his posting.

Merry Christmas to you all and here's to an exciting 2005!!

Hubby was doing cartwheels, has hated the waiting game since 15Sept. And as he doesn't browse this forum very often, felt all had gone silent. As faith has it, also booked our medicals today and sent of our police check forms. Can't wait to receive the pack now.

At last! We got our ITA yesterday! Woo hoo! :nice1 :raebanana

I couldn't quite believe ot - I opened the parcel and though, nah it's just a load of leaflets and things they've sent us to help get settled, but nope! Right at the bottom of the pile (huh!) was the letter to say that we have been invited to apply for residency! Yippee!

Our medicals are now booked for Monday and Tuesday, so we'll be sending it all back asap to get that PR rolling.

Think we may have a few days of celebrating and drinking this weekend - expecially since the sun's out and it's 24 degrees - nice one!

Incidentally, It was really easy over here to arrange the meds - just phoned up our local GP on Wednesday (who we've registered with but never seen yet), and they booked 2 half-hour appointments for me today and Daz tomorrow, and just asked us to bring the forms that were with the ITA (filled out in section A), passport and photo, and $110 and we'll go from there. All so easy and quick - I love this country!

I got a new work permit last week too before dropping off the iTA (new job - yay!), and the case officer I dealt with then said that the ITA's are getting processed really quickly at the mo cos they've just taken on more staff - could be good news for all of us :nice1

Hi everyone,

Went for a face to face interview with my case officer at the New Zealand High Commision in Singapore. Everything went smoothly. She was interested to know about how you are going to settle in NZ, whether you have friends/ relative for support, our financial status and how much we know about NZ like where are you going to settle, how much are you willing to spend on buying a house in NZ, how you get info regarding NZ, etc.

Basically, it took 1 hour but her response was quite positive. She mentioned that our case was quite straightforward as we(both me and my wife) were graduates of NZ universities and that her decision to grant us work to residence or PR will be on a case by case basis. I hope to get PR straightaway rather than the WTR visa.

Thats all and thanks for your support.

Hi Jinkee,

I was told by NZIS it was not necessary to bring anything, just yourself and the other adult applicant. As for myself, it was me and my wife who attended the face to face interview. My son was not required to attend the interview though.

The purpose of the interview is for the case officer to assess your ability to settle in NZ and how much you know about NZ.

Regards.

Hi Vincent,
Thanks for the reply.
I know a couple of Filipinos who are scheduled for interview. But unlike your case, these people were instructed to fly to Bangkok :eek . I'm now twice worried since there's a chance that husband (principal applicant) might be asked to tag me along :no . I hope NZIS realizes that this would cost us an arm and a leg.

Jinkee

voth30
10th March 2005, 05:15 PM
Hi JinKee,

As far as I know, the interview for the other applicants (in this case yourself) is not compulsory. In other words, if you do not want to be interviewed, it is alright but NZIS will base their report on what was provided in the ITA only. As for myself as the other applicant, my wife is the main applicant, I manage to increase my chances by giving them more details of my employment history, education, knowledge about NZ and chances of getting a job in NZ as these were not recorded in the ITA.

Good luck on your interview.

How did your interview go? Hope it went well.

As for ourselves, hopefully we can get a reply from NZIZ Bangkok by 15th May as my family will be going to Palmeston North from 15th - 15th May. Have also already made contacts with some schools for enrolment for our son and real estate agents for viewing of houses there.

Hi Cathy,

I have not got the PR yet. However, we are going there first to see how Palmerston North have changed after all these years as both me and my wife studied there 14 years ago.

We are also there to meet my old friends and classmates who are still living there. This can be considered a recce trip and we will only make the permanent move in October (after my lecturing / tutoring) commitments provided NZIS grant me the PR stamp.

Regards.
