Hi everyone. My name is Vincent and I am from Singapore. From the NZIS website I believe as many as 1001 applicants were selected on the 15th September draw. From what I know, some of us from the draw like Feathers and Milliemoo have already got their ITA while others like myself and Jesselyn are waiting for the status to change from selected to successful. I would greatly appreciate those who are in the same draw to update on the status of your application so that we can share our joys together.
Thanks alot.

Hi V & JB!
We were in the Sep 1st selection and although on the website it says we are successfull, we are still waiting for the info through the post. A few others on the same day are in the same boat. I think it's because we don't have job offers, cause I've heard of peeps in NZ who have submitted the EOI at the same time and have received their ITA and expect it to be processed in a matter of weeks.
My timescale is that I think we will be lucky to recieve anything before Christmas. As far as I'm aware they still plan to interview everyone without job offers, which must be 3000+ people by now! :uhoh
We don't plan to move over till Spring 06, and I'm glad we started the process now.
I'll let you know as soon as our invitation actually arrives.

Spare a thought for those of us who were selected on 4th AUGUST! We have 120 pts, no job and we are still on decision successful and no ITA received yet. So we've been waiting a good few weeks longer than some on here who are stressing about timelines ... it's a waiting game and we're all aware that they are dealing with those with job offers first.

Hi there
I was selected on the 15th and the website says decision successful but I haven't receievd my ITA yet and judging by others on the forum its quite possible that it will take a couple of months for it to arrive.
So don't get disheartened I don't think I'm really much further ahead than you!

Hey all. Selected on 9/15 as well. Got "selected" letter in the post on Oct. 2nd, I believe. Still only "selected from pool", waiting for "successful".
There was some speculation before that feathers may have had her EOI selection "successful" sooner than others because she's in the US (as am I). However, I distinctly remember that, when talking to the immigration fellow at the NZ Embassy in Washington, DC, that they don't process the EOIs there. That was his excuse for not having solid answers to most of my questsions. So I don't think it is handled by the local embassy.

Just thought I'd post our latest situation..
We were selected on 15/09/04..which was great :raebanana :raebanana The status changed on the 29th Sept to decision successful and we also received a letter on 29/09/04 back dated to 17/09/04 from NZIS station that we had been selected!!!
We then received the ITA pack on 30/09/04 huge :raebanana :raebanana :raebanana :raebanana :raebanana :raebanana and started getting Medicals ets sorted (already had applied for police checks as knew how long they can take to come thru!)
Had our medicals 08/10/04 (2 adults and 2 children - 3 yrs old) and will be submitting paperwork to NZ house London Tuesday 19/10/04.
Pete is the main applicant and he is a registered nurse (in UK and NZ)
His job is on the POL so I think that is why things have happened so quickly for us. Just need a date for exchnge and hopefully will be NZ bound before Xmas...
Time scale wise, hope this may have helped anyone out...will let you know the outcome asap..

Well, all the surveys on the houses in our chain have been done, the first time buyer at the bottom of the chain has had 2 surveys done, and held off from paying to have his searches done until the survey report came back ok, which thankfully it did, we've been told that he paid for the serches Friday (yesterday) so if all's well we should have an exchange date very soon. As soon as we've exchanged we'll be all systems go, as would like to get out to NZ sometime in November..but really hoping our PR visa's come through soon as would like to leave with them in our passports ( :hopeso :hopeso ). Same as you, Vincent. But here's the good news, I asked someone from NZIS and he said that most, if not all of those who were selected and verified will receive ITAs because they are still filling the gaps (target vs the actual). So, let's just hope that ours will come sooner. :hopeso

Told him still nothing further (selected 15Sep, 110points no job offer) from NZIS. He then went on to say that from some time in Dec to early Feb most government departments 'close down' for the summer holidays :( :wah Let's hope we all hear something before then.
Once we're assigned case officers in our current home countries the Dec-Feb holidays may not be that relevant.

Does anyone know the next step after status was changed to "decision successful"? I had that status for more than 2 weeks now but still I haven't receive an ITA. Or perhaps, maybe someone can explain the importance of the "decision successful" status, what does it really mean and what should we expect?
Beah
(EOI selected Sept 15)
Moorf
9th November 2004, 12:52 PM
I gather that "decision successful" simply means they have confirmed that you have correctly claimed your points - they will have only had a fleeting
glance at your EOI and you will now be in the "send ITA" pile. They will further assess and confirm, via references/checks etc, officially once they receive your completed ITA.
We were selected 4 Aug and have been in "decision successful" mode for weeks and weeks now.
MB
9th November 2004, 01:06 PM
Moorf - I'm intrigued by your "fleeitng glance" phrase, because it brings out a speculation I've been enteratining as to whether (m)any work or college contact numbers get phoned at all at this stage. One thing that makes me wonder is that NZIS are very wisely supposed to ask your permission before contacting employers... but I've heard (could be wrong!) of nobody on this forum who has received such a call for that purpose. Maybe because they just do a fleeting check at EOI verification stage and save the checking until ITA stage?
Matt.

Thanks Moorf. It seems like this waiting game will take much longer.
Moorf

My personal opinion is that no college or workplace would be contacted at the EOI stage - that would be done once your completed ITA had been received with all the info etc contained therein.
MB
9th November 2004, 03:31 PM
Point taken, Moorf. Indeed, when I think about it, I don't know of any posting on this or any other forum detailing any phone check at all, at any stage. Why, for example, has nobody posted saying "My former boss, a good mate, phoned me and said he'd had the NZIS on to him..." Or whatever: there wouldn't even be anything improper about the old boss just reporting the call, if not the content.
I'm sure there'll be howls of contradiction at this point - great! - but I'd like to hear some examples. 'Cos I'm right about the lack of them thus far, aren't I???
Matt.

i started counting, and the backlog of june being read in november means that the september selected will be read 6 months from then - or february 2005.
for those who have been selected but no ita's yet, and have enough money to spend, it might be better for them to follow in moorf's footsteps; go there, look for a place to stay and prospective employers, and land a job.
moorf, now that woz has a job, will you have to submit this new development to nzis for the additional 50 points and so push you up to the top of the heap for the ita? or is that a different method altogether?
still waiting (and getting a bit drunk from all that toasting :cheers )

for those who have been selected but no ita's yet, and have enough money to spend, it might be better for them to follow in moorf's footsteps; go there, look for a place to stay and prospective employers, and land a job.
Hi Annie,
I was hoping to follow Moorf's footstep if a tourist visa is not needed. As you know, we Filipinos have to secure a tourist visa before we can travel to NZ and applying for it is not an easy task.

Help, please. Am I the only one whose online record has no date (just a dash) under "Date Selected"? I know I read a post here from somewhere else, and I think it's normal.
We've certainly had the other good signs (e.g., the "Congratulations" message on our record, etc.)
Matt.

I'll try and answer that in the "Moorf and Woz.. the early days" thread ;)

yes, moorf, thanks, you did answer that in the "early days" thread.
Hi beah! yes, it's quite difficult to get a tourist visa, and i don't understand why, when the consuls that interview us are also filipinos!
Yeah, right, they think we're not coming back.
oh well, we'll just have to grin and bear it, llike we always do!
