Hi folks,
Just wondering after the posts further down today, we put our EOI in on 26th Jan but haven't heard yet whether it has been selected. Does the fact that others have heard today mean that we haven't been chosen, that they haven't got round to telling us yet or that we might get picked in 2 weeks?
Sorry if its obvious, but i am not sure how the selection process works?

I think they're still looking at EOI's submitted late last year, have you checked your status online?

Yes Dawn, I checked earlier and it doesn't say anything. I ask because Starkhorn only put their EOI in on 21st Jan and they appear to have been selected today?

Oh, I dunno then, they are really quick at the mo, I submitted mine on 4th Jan and got approval in principle yesterday (and I was delayed by a week!), but I'm going down the partnership route, so different to yours.

NO...it doesn't necessarily mean that you've not been chosen.
Oh ye of little faith.
It may simply mean that the selectors haven't got round to the '130 pointers' yet.
To be truthful, I don't know, but you just keep on checking your on-line status and keep your chin up.
They usually select about 750 applications every fortnight and I doubt if there are 750 with 140 points.
Let us know how you get on......good luck.

Hi John & Becky,
We had 140 points on the nose. I've just re-read the new rules they introduced in Nov2005 and 140 means auto-selection....so I guess that's why we got selected so quickly.
So 140+ means they don't even look at the EOI anymore? They simply select that EOI? is that correct?
Anyway as Zardell says, I'm sure they simply have gotten to the 130's yet as they seem to be manually going through those EOI's.
Cheers

I know its easy to say but harder to do. DONT PANIC. 130 is quite a high number of points.
Even if you are not selected this time your application is still in the pool.
Starkhorn can I ask why you completed an IELTS, I would have thought that with you being Irish, then you would not have to do this?

Hi Rocketman,
My wife didn't meet the minimum requirement for english language (as her first lanaguage is french not english), so she needed to do the IELTS so that I could tick the box for meeting the minimum requirement of english language. Also it will be less hassle when we get arrive as employers may ask for this cerficate.
But no I didn't need to do a IELTS exam.
Cheers
