We had a brilliant day out. The waterfront in town had a free event, lots of dancing, singing, food and information stalls. The sets ranged from indian performing arts, rock band and lovely Maori dancing and a trio playing behind them. The day started with a rainbow in Evans bay.

We went down to the waterfront to see the display. Had lunch in One Red Dog (one for the bad restaurant thread)

Took the Dom Post Ferry over to Eastbourne via Soames Island. It was windy but a great day for the trip. We passed our house (almost) which was weird but we both felt so happy to be here. Back on dry land we went to Te Papa, (fantastic place) looked at the Marae there and the immigration exhibits.Tiny pics below sorry, promise to get the hang of this one day.

Great pics especially the rainbow.

Welly is just great for all the summer festivals. I was at the One Love Fest in Hataitai myself...can you imagine a city in the UK not only having several free music & arts events happening in the centre of town, but also a free Reggae festival in one of it's tiny suburbs ( you can drive through Hataitai in about 30 seconds) ...that attracted 17,000 people!!!? On one day???

Gotta love NZ in da summer, eh? :)

Thanks Smiler, you know how much the pics cheer me up.
(now if only someone had a pic of an estate agent in a head lock..... all my online therapy need would be met).
