Just had a quick look at the old forum, and read a topic on the NZ shop in Covent garden.
I am forever being sent there by my wife.
Mainly for Blue bird salt and vinegar ridged crisps, a magi onion soup mix and a tin of reduced cream.
They mix the two together, refrigerate it, and then it must be those crisps to dip!
My two sisters have become hooked on the Burger rings, and my Mum is partial to the Jaffas!
I stick to the odd peanut slab!

Peanut slab .... PB loves them. I think they taste stale and very uninteresting. Bluebird chips ..... now you're talking.

Another thing that should never be allowed is L & P ....... for those of you who don't know what it is ...... put 26 Canderell artificial sweeteners in a glass of washing up water - add a twist of E? (whatever E number is 'lemon' flavour) then chill before serving. Wallah ...... you have L & P.

I'd like to hear more of the delights NZ has to offer. We're forever hearing about the British / American stuff that you can't get in NZ but no-body ever writes about all the nice new things we have to look forward to.

More please...... :clap

I keep seeing hokey pokey icecream all over the place but, as watching the calories (she says after downing a BOWL of hot chocolate with Kiwi yesterday at The Cup in Cashmere yuuummmm) I haven't been tempted by the hokey pokey yet.... what is it?!

Forget the calorie content - get out there and try the hokey pokey. It's got little pieces of honeycomb in it (which is the hokey pokey) - it's sweet but really nice.

Only get the tip top one for your first time (some brands of ice cream are pretty dire...guilt free just curls my toes) hokey pokey is cool, but so is rocky road the caramel one from tip top, french vanilla is nice with a pav...then tuck into a packet of minties to give you that minty fresh breath!

what about pascall and allens lollies huh!? cant beat either of them...use to like the pinapple lumps, gone off them in favour of milkshakes more (they actually do a bag of them ON THEIR OWN!)

Tanya...you must love them! (by the way your email is down, email me)

There are lots of great fattening stuff here..nice!
:angel
and some people I hear.... have to have a sleep after a bowl of hot choc!! how wimpy is that?!

Came with chocolate fish...Helen nearly died..a fish? why????!!

I dont know...just cos....

Mind you, was worth it, and thanks Kiwi for taking us to the Sign of the Taheke - great place :nice1 and The Cup in Cashmere where we had our own mini earthquake - or rather Woz was hoping it was, until the diggers started up outside :laugh :laugh :laugh

what is SEGG? (like that cheese stuff yesterday helen..sme**)!

Is that code for something?

That was funny about the earthquake..had forgotten...I said it was a truck..and low and behold one did go by..but it kept shaking the table...after it had reached Auckland.

maybe it was dodgey foundations...it is on a cliff side that cafe.

(we did a cafe crawl yesterday....always up for a food crawl me)..Tanya, you can come when you get here on the 6th..before you have had any sleep for 48hrs and we will feed you a bowl of hot choc and watch you pass out...and lay you on the shaking table...just for fun!

Segg - that wonderful stuff in the chller cabinet of the supermarket, a roll in a red wrapper similar to Luncheon meat - Segg being the name they call it as it is made from Steak & Egg ( Yes I know how it sounds but it is delicious - unless you are a vegetarian :eek )

Look forward to the shaking table and a big hot choc with you both Nic and Helen!! I imagine a big Hot choc would put me to sleep too Helen :nice1

laugh, I fear my sides will burst....(go on, my turn to take the joke...)

I am not 'pooossh' and I didnt know you had to make your own! candles came with them, and real choc that you melted over said candles in a little milk and then poured the rest of the boiling milk into cup...well I just threw it all in, and it just looked yukk!

Woz, kindly stirred and stirred till everything melted while I ran outside and spoke with a friend I saw walking by, so when I got back..it was all ok!

That will really spin her and anyone else out..cos I have never seen that before...and I only drink hot chocs...so there you go...you got me!!

That building is a beaut. It looks like it got lost en-route to Scotland.
The hot choc sounds rather yummy to say the least. I will have to keep Sarah away from this thread, or she will have us on the first plane to ChCH.

I had a look here http://www.sanza.co.uk/apps/shop/shop.asp?sc_id=471 and they do have some of the goodies mentioned above. I was most interested in the "lollies" and there are lots of nice things for me to look forward to. Yum

Orange Sparkles - must be Spangles in disguise methinks.

Pineapple lumps? Jeeze they are disgusting. I'm more of a 'chippies' kind of girl, I'll willingly leave the pineapple lumps, mil bottles, minties and jaffas to some other poor devil.

Eta Kettle Chips ........ now you're talking.
