I have yet to start the process of sending in all the documents to the NZQA and already I have questions. I have read a lot of responses to how long the NZQA takes, which was really nice to hear because I was expecting about a month wait time, and it is clear to me now that it can most certainly take longer.

A question I do have is about the documents that we are to send in. Along with our diplomas and degrees are we to send school transcripts? Here in the USA, when you request transcripts they come in a sealed envelope, and for them to remain "offical" they are only to be opened by the agency needing them. Do they need to remain official when they go to the NZQA?

I also read something about a "complete accademic syllabus/curriculum"? Is this a description of all the college courses we took, or just the degree syllabus?

Also, as far as employment records go. What exactly do they want? It seems vague to me.

I know this is a lot to ask and I hope that I made sense. This would all be really helful to know. Anything to make this process go as smoothly as possible. :laugh

Hello Newbe
When i sent mine in i sent them the brochure the college gave me for my course that explained all the studies it covered, it was like a six page catalogue. Also the individual marking sheets with tutors comments and signatures on.About 8 pages in total. For my high school i sent them my gce and cse certificates(UK QUALS)mine were not sealed but no queries dont know if its same for yours. My employer gave me a single page letter giving my job title and length of serviceand again no problems with this. only delay was relevant bodies in uk taking there time to respond to NZQA. Dont forget to send originals and photocopies of everything .I was pleased with my assessment i thought i would only get 50 points and i got 70.
Cheers Paul :nice1

and I was the same - said 60 - got 70 !

oh and I bad mouthed NZQA on timescales but actually I got pretty much waht it said on the tin - took 2 months total time.

Mind you I only got my degree assessed - they couldn't cope with my trade quals (apparently there's no NZ equivalent)

So I'm quite pleased.

Could you till what is your qualification? I am wondering how to get 70 points as the maximum points for post-grduated are 55 (as mentioned in the NZ immigration web site)!!
