Well, can't believe it but we fly out a week today! I'm starting to get very nervous & have forgotten what a full nights sleep feels like! :wah Just spending our last week with family & close friends but it all is twinged with so much sadness. We have been babysitting our 5 week old nephew today & it just hit me that the next time we see him he won't even know who we are :(
I know it's probably very natural to feel this way but it still doesn't stop me feeling sooo down! Every day I have a different emotion...one day I know it's the right thing for us to do & the next I have big doubts!
Have just kitted my sister & best friend out with web cams, microphones & installed skype for them...hope this will make keeping in touch more personal & easier.
Sorry for the moan, just needed some hugs from you all as you know what we are going through!
On a more exciting note we have got our tickets today for U2 in Auckland on the 18th March...never managed to see them in the UK so this will be a real treat!

Yep you get {{big hugs}} from me, but look at the things you have to look forward to, and it won't be as bad with all the gadgets you have kitted them out with (well thats what I keep telling myself anyway ;) )
Cole is round again, he had his first bath at ours today, its all firsts....also lasts and the beer seems to come out the fridge easily :o
Have a safe flight out, and you can give me the hugs when i am in your shoes in 3 months.

Thanks for the big hugs Kat, really appreciate them.
Will definately be ready with big ones for you too in a few months! :yes
How true...we have got lots to look forward too so I must keep reminding myself that!
Speaking of beer, my OH has just wandered through with a cold one for us! Must be the norm for pre-migration! :laugh

big hugs from me too!! We go in 12 days, so I do understand what you're going through. The packers arrive tomorrow and we move out on Thursday - the kids finish school on Friday and I do feel awful for them - it's a big thing for them to go through and they've had no choice in the matter.
I hate this no-man's land. I'd rather be there and have all the good byes behind me - even if I am horribly homesick, I'd rather be feeling it rather than thinking about feeling it.
Hope you get through it ok - keep us posted - it'll be worth it in the end!

Massive hugs from me too. This is the worst bit for you, the no mans land, the waiting and the worrying expectation.
The roller coaster feelings are normal, we've all had them, some of us get them now we are here.
But Kate's right, it is better to actually feel them, than keep worry about whether you will feel them.
In a weeks time, you'll hit the ground running and wonder what all the fuss was about. :laugh
Good luck and just pop back if you need a top up on the hugs. :D

((((BIG HUGS)))) from me too.
I can only imagine how you must be feeling, old life nearly behind you, new one not quite started and you're hovering in limbo between the two.
But, chin up - you'll soon be living the life that the majority of us 'left behind' forumites are striving for and all that you're going through right now will hopefully become a distant memory.
Good luck luck for your new life in NZ and keep us posted.

I can imagine it must be hard, those last days with family and friends. Big hugs from me too, enjoy this week with your family, have a safe flight and good luck with your new life in New Zealand!
