I'm thinking about how to ship our important paperwork (diploma's and stuff) and photo's to NZ.
Did you move it in the container, or did you put in your suitcases (but it's too much for that!) or any other secure way of getting it to Auckland?
I'm also considering to mail all the paperwork to my husband who's already in Auckland, but I have way to many photo albums for the mail.
Any tips?

I'd be inclined to take any important papers with me but would photocopy them as well. with the photos we scanned a selection of our older ones that were taken on a normal camera and saved them to petes laptop then packed them into plastic cartons and put them in the container. they all arrived ok.

Scanning photo's is a good tip, but I will have to take a chance with all the photo's I think, cause I simply do not have the time to scan them all.
I will scan all the important paperwork and put them on a dvd too, maybe send a small part by mail to my husband, and the rest will just have to fit into the suitcase.....

PS dont forget to make a HARD copy....just incase something happens to your Hardrive! :(

Ow.... had a hd crash? :no

I usually make an extra copy on dvd or cd, as well as put them (the digital photo's) on 2 hard drives as well...I'm paranoid when it concerns photo's, they are irreplacable. Which reminds me, I have to make another backup soon.

Its time consuming but we put all our photo's to DVD only 3 disks 10 gig's worth
took day's :s
