Hello all, just a few lines to say that like you all, I too am striving to start a new life in NZ with my family. ( Wife, 2 teenage girls and a boy of 11yrs ), but as you are aware, it takes time. We were selected by NZIS on 18/09/04 and their 6/8 week process time is now up, but alas I have no job offer so I guess I'll have to wait for the ITA like everyone else. Haven't decided on final destination but would like to end up somewhere in the Waikato region, looks lovely ! plus there seems to be a good work source around that area for my skills. Anyhow, is anyone in the UK going to the NZ Expo at Earls Court this weekend, I'm taking the whole family down there on saturday and looking forward to it, I'll be armed with lots of copies of my CV to hand out :hopeso . So, thats it, just saying hello and hope to have more news soon :nice1

Bubbles & family

Welcome to the forum and lots of luck with your immigration quest. I'm not going to the Expo at the weekend but I understand a few people from this forum will be there.

Hope all goes well and you get plenty of interest in your CV's.

By the way .... the Waikato region is lovely !!

Thanx Diny, it's good to hear that. Never, ever been before but we have some very good friends out there ( native Kiwis ) its been a dream of ours since before we were married, some 20yrs ago, then the children came along and things were put on the back burner so to speak. Now the children are of a reasonable age and the grandparents have been briefed, and understand the reasons for the big move,so now the time is right. we can't wait for it to happen.

Hi Bubbles,

We're (wife and kids) all going to the expo on saturday too. We're staying in London Fri/sat and making a weekend of it, museums etc.

Like you we've been selected on 115 with no job offer but waiting for a decision. We like the Hawkes Bay area or Palmerston and we're hoping to find out a lot more on sat. I'll pm you my mobile if you fancy a coffee on sat give us a call.

HI Bubbles

Steve here. Just replying to your posting. We are entering our EOI next week, and look forward to a swift reply :)) Good luck with your endeavours.

Just found out about the EXPO :( Would have been interesting to go to.

Grandparents have been briefed here, but 2 in particular don't like it (grandad even more so!) :uhoh But that's understandable because they stand to lose everything, only had one child themselves. My mum has 2 "reserve" grandkids to fall back on so it won't be so hard.....
My 2 kids are 9 and 6 and thoroughly looking forward to the adventure. Don't know if the youngest fully understands the implications but she says she understands.
But with the internet now the world is a much smaller place anyway. Web cam - better than crackly old phone line....

With that I'll leave you - good luck again.

Welcome & Good luck - I'm going to the Expo on Saturday with a job lot of CVs, I wish they would've supplied a Northern Expo which would save me getting up at about 4.45am tomorrow. I might be the only person with train lag tomorrow.

Cheers
Jon

Welcome and Best of Luck in your immigration process.

As you will see from many posts on here it's a waiting game at the moment with no job offer (12 weeks or more), so your idea to get as many CV's out to employers and agencies is very worthwhile indeed. Have you considered coming out for a week or two to do interviews, meet agents etc - it goes a long way to securing a job. :nice1

If/When you get a job offer you can go to the top of the queue!

Lots of info on here so keep reading and posting.

All the best
