Can someone help me? I am confused about something. So I made my eoi for 110 points in dec 2005 and found out later on about new sistem. Since then, I am quite dissapointed because my qualification is not on long term list, but I'm the one with recognised work, but my husband who's a programmer is on long term list but doesn't have the work exp recognised (comparable labor market issue, he only worked for local companies not recognised) :wah
So last week we saw on NZ immi site that my qualification (accountant) is on immediate short list, and we thought that we should change our eoi at work and qualifications in absolute skills shortage. Now the direct link from the site when saying "absolute skills shortage" is only to long term list. Does someone know if I did something not ok? do you know by chance if there may be a problem with what we did? what if they think we have tried to lie? what can happen?
any experiences on this? plssssssssssssss help me, I am so so so very confused...

I'm sorry, I'm not entirely clear on what you changed, but if you switched your work and qualifications to the category of "absolute skills shortage" for those points and they think your qualification should fall under another category with fewer points, they will just let you know when they go over the EOI. I doubt they will think you are lying.
When we first sent in our EOI, I put down the wrong skills category out of confusion, and they just emailed me after I was selected to say it should be a different category. We still moved ahead and got PR, because we had enough points in the correct category.
Hope that's helpful.

Jess, thanks so much for your answer. It helps a lot to know they will email me any question they might have. I saw the status of our EOI as "selected" but still have no news from them :uhoh
My qualification and work experience is not in long term list, but recently saw on immi site that it is on immediate skills short list (I am an accountant). Therefore I thought could be correct to change our EOI and to consider my qualification as absolute skilld shortage. And I am confused if it is correct or not...
Thanks...

I thought that once submitted you could not make changes to the EOI, you have to wait until they send you the ITA paperwork and then have a chance to change any answers you need to. I thought it said if you change things online you will have to resubmit the EOI (and be drawn again, I assumed).
I'm sure it will get sorted once you have your ITA, it's all a bit clearer on paper somehow.

Yes, you can make changes to your EOI if you submitted it online. I just did, you have to re-edit it and then press "re-submit" button. Also you are required to explain why did you change your EOI (quite normal I think).
Don't know about those on paper, but as far as I've heard you can also change by sending Immi Office a letter/email explaining reasons and what changes you made.
Now status on our EOI is "selected", because we changed it to 140, but haven't got ITA yet. :no
