Hi all,
I was selected on 29th Sept (110pts w/ no job offer). As of today, my status is still selected (no letter from the post yet). I would love to hear the status of those who were selected on the same day.
regards,
jinkee

Hi Jinkee, we are the same as you i.e. selected 29th sept. (115 no job) and we are still at selected status.
Its only been just over 2 weeks and reading through posts on here thats not long, and as we have no job offers then I think we'll have to be patient a while longer.
Regards
Phil

Like 12 weeks of patience at least - as told to us today by NZIS.... for those with no jobs. They will then work through applications by total number of points.... working down to the 100's.

wow. so having a good number is really important. Anyway, I'll double the intake of my PATIENCE pill.

Hello all! New to the forum; we too were selected 29 September, looks as though it can be quite a wait to hear. As we're hoping to move Spring 2005, it's a bit nerve wracking. :hopeso

we have been told that it will be yonks before non-jobbers get through! the only faster way is to get a job and go over to work, then apply.

Not to sound uneducated, but what exactly does 'yonks' mean? It sounds like a very long time to wait.

a long time .. ages ..... so you have it right

Yonks is a long time. But not as long as "yonks and yonks" which is much longer :P
If I was you and selected on 29th Sept without a job offer, I'd chill out and try and forget about it for this year.
We were selected August 14th, 130 points, no job offer. I called the NZIS in auckland yesterday to chase up my EOI, I was told that it was still in the queue to be looked at, the verification process hasn't even started. The very nice lady told me, that 12 weeks is an absoulte minimum at present. 16 weeks is more realalistic.

We were selected on August 18th with no job offer and 115 points. I also phoned NZIS yesterday and was told 8 - 12 weeks, told to call if nothing had changed by November 18th. :hopeso
It is nerve racking, and a pain in the neck but in the grand scheme of things a few extra weeks won't matter too much!! (he say's trying to convince himself!!)
Cheers,
Mark. :P

We were also picked on 29th Sept (105 points :no and no job offer). Our status is selected, but I received a letter from NZIS, Singapore about a week ago saying they were verifying our application and would be in touch later. Is this the same as you've all experienced or a bit different?
I hurried getting our application in before the mark went up again - so have provisionally given myself a wait of at least 6 months - so as not to stress about not hearing too soon - too soon...if you get my drift.

Yes, we received that letter too Ria. I think it's just the standard acknowledgment letter.
We've got a keen buyer for our house now, who wants to move in Jan 05 so we're really hoping to get a decision before we have to exchange contracts or we'll have to let our buyer go. :(
At least there's lots of likeminded folks in here to keep us going

told to call if nothing had changed by November 18th.
That would be PERFECT timing for us (selected 4th August or thereabouts) .. our meds run out at the end of Nov :eek so if we could get our ITA in before then it would be a real bonus!

Hi Phil & Shell,
If you are confident that the points claimed are legit I would seriously consider going into rented accomodation in January rather than let the buyer go. With the way the housing market is going you've probably sold "at the top", or if not very close to it. :nice1
Even if prices don't collapse (I actually don't think they will) they are almost certain to retreat a bit and all the evidence points to houses taking much longer to sell. It would be terrible if you got into the position of everything being in place to move but you couldn't shift the house!
Just my opinion, and the best of luck!! If you're ever visiting Poole you should give me a shout, we could all get together for a chat!
Cheers,
Mark. :P

Yes Mark, you are right of course. Its just a bit scary thinking of moving out of our house without the security of knowing for certain. But I guess sometimes you gotta live on the edge a bit to get what you want!
Have you sold or are you waiting to for you ITA before you go on the market? We come up to Poole quite a lot, shopping or maybe a walk along the quay sometimes. It would be good to meet up and share experiences. I'll PM you next time we're headed that way.
Which area are you hoping to move to?

Give me some dancing bananas. We're now decission successful.
I haven't checked our status for sometime now. I promised myself to check it on 14 Dec (12 weeks after selection). But since Jes got her big news yesterday, I logged on this morning.
Now we wait (again) for the ITA pack then the dreaded medical check.
