Been up the coast to Orewa staying at a holiday camp for the weekend, lovely place http://www.puriripark.com/ (http://www.puriripark.com/) (unfortunetly, it's closing soon, sold for housing subdivision)

Weekend was a works outing, got up there Friday night, a game of cricket with the kids and few beers.

Saturday we had a walk down to the beach, chilled out in the sun, ate ice creams, BBQ for lunch. Saturday afternoon was a blast, we all went sking at snowplanet, 202 metres top to bottom, you can ski, board and airosnow, which is like a lilo, you just jump on and go down.

Saturday night, we headed out to Whangapapora (try saying that to a taxi driver when drunk) for dinner, went to the a really nice place, food was great when we got it, but the service was shocking, took 45 mins to even get bread to the table. I wasn't paying so didn't complain.

Back home sunday morning, relaxing and getting the booze out the system.

Best of all the whole thing was on my employers so, the weekend cost next to nothing :laugh

Andrew was a little star, flirting with all the women :laugh , went shopping at Silverdale, as there are a few factory outlet shops up there, and they are next door to a massive play centre, so you can bribe the kids to behave.

Next door to the Snowplanet is a go karting place, that also had water dodgems that looked great fun.

Forgot to add, what happened at Snow Planet. I go in, get all the kit, skis, hat, boots etc I go out into the snow hall, get on the lift and go up 200 metres to the top, and have a look down the 30 degree slope, when I remeber something important, which had slipped my mind. I don't know how to ski, never been before.

A quick look confirms the lift appears to be a one way deal, nothing for it, but to give it my best shot so I push off. Didn't go well, walked away from it is the best I can say.

Otherwise, good fun

Bigger, Tamworth has only 170m slope, this place has 202m.
