Hi All,
Love reading the forums,seem to be glued to the computer all the time now!!
Looks like we might have to take the route of coming across on a tourist visa and then finding work,as without a job offer before we go we don't have enough points.
I have found out that we can bring our dog with us on a tourist visa,but does anyone know if the shipping of our stuuff can be done.The plan would be to sell up here,(the house is on the market)and for us to come straight over to NZ sending our stuff on as well,but not sure if we'd have to put our things in storage until we have secured jobs or if they would let us bring them in on a tourist visa.As once we come across not planning to come back!!
We must be one of the mad ones!!
Any comments/feedback would be much appreciated.

Hi Jameelka,

We are in exactly the same boat, although understand we can take our possessions out, just need to be in NZ when they arrive, or have someone to sign on our behalf.

Perhaps someone who has been through the process can confirm.

We go out on 15th August to Christchurch. Purchased 10 acres of land there 1 1/2 years ago and are now building our new home. We all can't wait to go - inc. husband, 4 children, 2 dogs, 1 cat and 1 horse!!!

So have u got jobs to go to or are u like us going over on a tourist visa and taking a chance!!??
We would be looking at buying a property with some land,OH has promised our daughter she can have a horse! Plus our dog would love the open space,as she's coming with us!
We just need to sell our house first then we are off!!!

Hi Again,

We are chancing our luck!! We know if my hubby gets a job we will have enough points. He is in IT and it's classed as a skills shortage! When we were last over in NZ basically all employment agencies advised that you really need to show commitment and go over to NZ!! If you stay here you won't get a job and you need a job to get a work visa!!!!Catch 22!!! ...So it's off we go to pastures new and we can't wait! We also need to sell our house, but if it's not gone by 15th August then we are still going out....We will rent it!

Life is too short. It will all work out if it's meant to be...
