We are looking at booking our flights in the next few weeks, we aim to fly out in October this year to Welly. I have read numerous threads regarding airlines etc but still none the wiser! I have found a flight with NZ airways for £480 per ticket however from what I have read NZ airways isn't that great and neither is the stopover in LA???? Can anyone help? As we are emigrating we will have loads of stuff so baggage allowance also plays a huge part! Anyone flown with NZ airways and have any stories to tell?
Thanks in advance,
Jo :D

Hello Jo
i have been with singapore airlines now a few times . Service was fantastic couldnt do enough for you ,price was good just booked five seats one way for £2300 meals ,seats reserved etc, heard lots of bad things about flying via los angeles but never been that way. If you join singapore airlines krisflyer club which is free you get more baggage allowance only an extra 5kg each but it helps. hope this info helps cheers Paul :)

Hi we booked them online direct with Singapore air. You can pick your seats and reserve them from the seating plan of the flight you pick no extra charge and pick your meals from the large menu also no charge, even does vegetarian, lactose intolerant etc, you can also check in electronically before you go to the airport. When we fly on 7th march there are some others from the forum on the same flight ,good flight times and now fully booked for that one. On the plane every seat has a tv and also music and nintendo games . the staff never stop bringing food and drink ,i even got a magnum icecream on my last trip,my favourite icecream ,and its all included in the price you paid not like on the cheapo flights to spain and lanzarote we have been on where you pay for everything. Website is www.singaporeair.co.uk i would think you could get a really good price if you arent going till october and your pick of flight times and seats, let me know how you go on. I,m hoping the flight on 7th march will be our last for a long time as we are finally going for it after all the research ,reccy and so on. Only flight we might have to do is from one island to another depending on job i take. Cheers Paul :cheers

I have just visited the website and flights to welly seem to come in at £3150 per ticket!!!! Is it a problem if we are flying to Wellington rather than Auckland?

It does seem a bit high that i,m sure i priced up at christmas for a flight to Wellington and it was quite reasonable,Maybe some of the forumites from wellington or heading for wellington can give you a bit more info, we are only going to Auckland ,I saw a program about wellington airport and how windy it was ,the plane was all over the place it put the wife off .

We used Singapore Airlines and I would completely agree with the comments above. We booked through Dial-a-Flight rather than direct with the airline.
