Hi all

just to let you know that we will be without computer access for a while. We are living in temporary accommodation until we fly out on Friday morning.

We will be back on the forum as soon as possible to let you know how things are going.

Thanks for all the help and advice and the offers of a welcoming committee at the Airport. It is very much appreciated.

Back soon

Hi Everyone and thanks so much for your kind words!

Wow! Here at last - I've managed to grab the computer at the motel we're staying at so here's a quick update.

Got up Friday morning to thick snow - aarggh - panic? I should say so. But we got to Manchester Airport fine thanks to a good pal of ours. Flight to Singapore was brilliant -Singapore Airlines all the way for me folks - they we're so good. 14 hour stopoff in Singapore I didn't like it I'm afraid. It was far too hot and humid for me and we were all just soooo tired we couldn't be bothered to do much so crashed out at the airport.

Flight from Singapore to Auckland not as comfy - different plane and not as much leg room but still fab cabin crew - Rosie really enjoyed herself and that was a bonus as she had suffered very badly with air sickness last time we came and was not looking forward to it.

We've hired a car and are staying at a motel not too far from the airport (couldn't be bothered to move far after all that travelling).

Have just about got over the very very traumatic goodbyes but people, do not under-estimate how hard those last meetings are with loved ones. Even though we've said 'see you later' rather than goodbye it was the hardest thing I've ever had to do.

Anyway, we're on the hunt for a car and a home now so I'd better get cracking.

Will be in touch as often as I can.

Bye for now folks

Hi Alison and family

Glad to hear the journey wasn't too traumatic, but don't even want to think about how hard your 'see you soons' must have been. (((Big hugs)))

Yay !!!!! here at last. Good to know it all went well. I know exactly how you must be feeling right now.

Having spent many years travelling around and living in other countries, one thing I always do is say 'see you later' ....... I never say goodbye.

My mum & dad leave tomorrow after a 2 month visit ...... at the moment I have that sickening lump in my throat ....... blooming horrible.

Keep us posted on how you get on. Any chance of making it to Taupo the week after next?

Great to have you here.
