What are the terms of getting a working holiday visa? is it necesarry to have a job offer?
Is this visa easier to get than a touristic visa? I have doubts we wont be able to receive our touristic visa for NZ because we already have our EOI submitted and it is quite obvious that we intend to remain in NZ

I saw on immi site that only some countries are listed there, does this means that if my country is not in the list I cannot apply for working holiday visa? :uhoh
Jewelsvani, your friends have told to the interviewer that they have submitted EOI? do you think that being honest (and tell them that we want to migrate but for the beginning we just want to see the country before) is the right thing to do? we dont have properties on our names here and I'm quite afraid they may say no...
Thanks.......

I dont think you should say anything, I wouldn't but I'm not sure if this is the right thing to do. If your country is not on the WHV list then I doubt you are living a country which has the agreement with the NZ government.

first thing you should do is make sure you can get a WHV.
Good luck with it.

Both my partner and I are already in Wellington on a WHV. At customs they did not as us if we had plans to leave NZ, they only asked where we planned to stay. I had already submitted my EOI before I left the US so I am quite sure it was clear to all that I planned to stay in NZ past the WHV.

I had similar worries so I went to the Immigration office here in Wellington to get some advice. The first piece of advice was to have my file transferred from London to the Wellington office. Then next day my case worker called and told me that she had approved my EOI and to come pickup my ITA.

I then told her that I had found full-time permanent work and that the WHV did not allow me to take full-time work. She told me that it was not a permanent job until I stayed at the job until longer than my Visa allowed. I asked if I should apply for a work permit to validate the situation and she told me that there was no reason to do so because my WHV allowed me to work in the same job for 90 days and I would have PR before that time frame came around.

Then I moved on to my next worry. What if for some reason I was denied PR? She told me that if everything I had declared in my ITA was true and since I already had medicals and police checks that I was almost assured at this point.

I then decided to leave well enough alone and go back to work.

would people please at least put their countries on the profile as it really helps to have a bit of info before replying.
