We really really want to get to NZ yesterday ......

DH even said that he would do 2 winters back to back LOL

Everything seems to take so long , The relevant family stuff has not been posted back to me from NZ - my family are far far too laid back - they need a rocket where the sun don't shine !!! We've spent the weekend painting - preparing the rooms that are having new (albeit cheep ) carpet in ready for the estate agent - that damned house doctor :p She certantly has a LOT to answer for . Although I bet she'd faint if presented with the average kiwi home from what i can see :D

Medicals on friday 9 am , chest rads at 12 & carpet fitters at 2 ! what a day - I've ordered a few bottles of vino with the tesco order - think we'll need them .

So any one else itching to get on that plane ?
Is it all going too slow ?

Hi Mossum,

We've got through the part where it was all going too slow to the part where it is all going very fast, but yes, I can't wait to get on that plane. I'm stripping the paint off of shutters and painting the deck and haven't even begun our self-pack prep for the 14th (unless you count about a thousand trips to the dump and charities.)

I have some ridiculous idea that it will all be fine if we can get through this work and the difficult family goodbyes and the dog dropped off with the pet shipper and get on the plane. But then of course comes the new work of finding a place and getting settled. Not to mention the back to back winters you mentioned.

My unnaturally calm OH says "one thing at a time," and he's right, but at night I am dreaming of containers falling off ships and on my meal breaks I am glued to this forum and the houses to let sites.

I am glad you have family in NZ mossum - so nice to have them there when you arrive. Once things speed up for you they will probably go really fast. Enjoy the ride! :)

Yup, I know the feeling so well. I submitted all my paperwork on the 6th of Jan so still have a long wait. I just want to be there now. After all the running around sending off this and that this waiting game is awful.

nicola - everything crossed for you for a speedy service from NZIS

Jo - we live in leyland , DH is from Horwich originally , My stepson lives in wigan( near the house with the unicorn that has all the xmas lights ( I beleive it is a wigan legend ) so I go to that tesco occasionally . SS jordan goes to standish high also - every weekend involves 2 x round trips so I know wigan reasonably well :D

take care all

I know exactly how you're feeling, we have 140 days left today! Sometimes it seems like it's so far away and other times it feels like its coming too quickly!

I just want to be there now, fed up of being in the UK and sorting out our house, de-cluttering and selling all our belongings!

Roll on 20th July.
