Hi all

I thought I'd take a chance and ask a favor. I bought a 2-seater couch on Trade Me last weekend and need to get it from Lower Hutt to Titahi Bay. The one person I know with a big enough vehicle has to go out of town on a family thing so not available.

Is there anyone who might be able to help me out in exchange for lunch or topping off your gas tank or a donation to your favor charity? Your choice, my treat.

It seems silly to rent a truck for $85 to move a $100 couch. Saturday would be best but obviously I can be as flexible as the couch-seller can be.

Thanks for thinking about it.

Cheers,
Susan

Susan,

Someone told me that almost every gas station has a truck you can hire for about 30 dollars a day. It's a beat up junker but you can haul stuff around. I am nost sure how true this is but it might be worth looking into. This came from a Taxi driver and they are in my opinion a creditable source. At least when it comes to matters of getting around Welly.

Hi all

Thanks for the replies. I'm living without a car at the moment so the trailer won't work. But no worries, I found a cargo van for $40 so I'll get the couch, stop by some second hand places and look for some odds and ends that I've been needed and a top it off with a big grocery shop and picking up dog food. I'll definitely get my $ worth!
