Hi everyone, great forum and answered a lot of my questions already.

However, could one of you experts give me an idea on how to get around this situation.

We have submitted our application for PR under the skilled migrant visa without a job offer. Therefore we are looking at 7,8 or 9 months till we get approved.

This isn’t a major problem except for the fact that we know when we want to fly (end of September) and want to take advantage of cheaper flights by booking early.

So the question is, how do we book a one way flight without a PR? I lie, the real question is, if we book a one way flight but don't get our PR through before we leave, will we get turned away at the immigration desk as we have no proof of leaving the country (as required by a visitors visa)?

Any advice gratefully received,

Mark

Welcome!

I think you can have an onward ticket to Oz (very cheap) and that will be enough evidence for you to be able to go without PR.

Did you just submit your EOI or your ITA?

Yes, one way to Oz is the cheapest option. That's what I did and then got PR approved 2 days after arriving in NZ! Now I have an excuse to vacation in Sydney.
