For anyone that took the train while in NZ -- did you wait to book until you arrived (to get reduced fares), or did you book overseas at full fare? I'd like to wait, but Transcenic won't allow fare reductions, and warns that you may not get a space if you wait.

We have looked at doing this a couple of times as they are advertising a special on the TV $85 a go. But these fares sell out really quickly it seems.

We have not been able to get cheap offers so far and we are here. Might be worth you booking anyways?
