Folks,

I've been on the NZ post website to see about opening a PO Box from Europe but the website says to open a PO box, that I have to go into post office branch.

http://www.nzpost.co.nz/Cultures/en-NZ/Personal/ManageMailDelivery/POBoxesAndPrivateBags/

Obviously as I'm still in europe then this isn't possible. wondering therefore if anyone opened a PO box prior to arriving in NZ and how they went about doing it.

Cheers
Starkhorn

I did enquire about doing it while in NZ but ended up just using the poste restante at the nearest PO. Would that help you? They usually keep mail received for at least a month.

Tried to do it from Europe and failed, had to do it in person. Only takes 10 mins to do

Hi,

Thanks for the replies. I sent a mail to NZ post customer support and I got very helpful and fast reponses from their customer support. Apparently NZ post needs require all PO Box applicants to complete a PO Box contract, provide certified identification (Passport or Drivers License) and pay for the lease of the PO Box in advance.

They offered to fax the application form to me and I assume that I can simply fax them or post them back to them.

I waiting for my ITA to come through but with luck it shouldn't be too much hassle.

FoolsGold, what problems did you have when trying to set on up?
