The brickies have nearly finished :raebanana
The scaffolding should come down and the rest of the roofing tiles can go up.
There are pipes and cables running all over the house and garage .

Hi GIL ,
Our completion date is Dec 9th ,I can now say next month :nice1
One of GJ Gardners selling points is that you have a fixed date and a fixed price ,so if they go overtime ,they have to compensate us.
I just want to be living down there ,I spend loads of time driving back and too as the kids keep going to their friends to play after school.Once we are living there I will probably never see them :exit

It's lovely for the kids to be off out all day with their friends. We're lucky enough to have that here and are looking forward to them all making new friends to do the same with there.
Good luck with the final stages, and keep the pics coming, they're great!

Grrrrrr, hope they can stick to that or you are going to be proper stuck if they move it back any more, but surely they want you in and the rest of their money as soon as possible, and if they have to give you money back, thats an even bigger motivation for them. Hope they get their collective fingers out and sort it out.

I've just caught up with the thread and the house looks fantastic. :raebanana The piccies are very interesting and I hope that you've created an album so you look back at them one day.
Trouble is with the building industry, it comes down to time, cost and quality, and you very rarely get all three. Two out of the is good going. It looks like you got the last two this time! :roll
I hope that everything sorts itself out though, but don't forget if there are snags make sure the builder puts them right before you pay him the final cheque.

Nothing exciting to report yet ........all the insulation is in ........water pipes and lovely gas pipes..........so hopefully the Gib [walls] should go up soon ,then we will have real walls .
Once the drains are in ,the concrete guy can sort out the paths, drives and patio.
Then we can maybe start work on the garden ,need tonnes of topsoil and start the lawn [I'm sooooo optimistic].

Wow, full house Marie. But yayyy to a family Xmas/New Year.
Gem's first week of school was great. She was more than ready for it and loves the challenge. She's already in the second to top reading group (not too shabby for only just getting there) and more than holding her own in pretty much all they do. It's a shame she only gets another three weeks then the big summer hols are upon us.

The painters finally finished today ,so its bathrooms to be fitted ,all socket fronts and light fittings to go in .

The roof needs finishing too .
We have bought the big light fitting for the hall ,ordered a dishwasher and bought a huge table ,chair and umbrella set from trade me .[just need the plasma screen TV ,but may wait till just after christmas to get that ].
Dave put weedkiller down today ,we are going to hire a little digger to level the garden ,order some topsoil and then start the new lawn .
We couldn't get in as the house has been made secure ,here is a photo with the garage door and the front door painted. We will have to paint the drain pipes as I think they look awful in white.
