We fly out in about 7 hours. It's been a long time coming but we're actually on our way at last. We don't arrive in NZ till the 14th - after enjoying some much longed for sunshine in Singapore. We drove up to Heathrow from Plymouth yesterday and have spent the night and today in the Novotel here. It's a nice hotel, all the mod cons, WIFI available (we've paid 20 euros for 24 hours access), lovely food in the restaurant, a really nice swimming pool and they've been great with the kids. We paid an extra £50 for late check out (6pm as opposed to 11am) as we don't fly till 10.15pm - but it's definately worth it. Not a cheap option but definately as stress free as we could get it for our last few hours in the UK.
We've managed to jam all our stuff into four suitcases - with an extra bag that's going to have to go Excess Baggage. Oh well, we tried.
Anyway, just wanted to say a quick 'see you on the other side'. Thanks for all the support from this wonderful forum over the last couple of years....and now we're :exit .

Thanks for all those lovely replies everyone. We are now suffering (nah, not really) in the warmth of Singapore. It is a bit of a shock after the snow and sleet in Plymouth last week!! The flight was good - I highly recommend the late night flight for those with younger children. Gemma and Cameron fell asleep before take off and slept (off and on) for 7 or 8 hours of the 13 hour flight. The plane was quite empty so we all spread out and the kids had room to lie down and sleep.
We met up with Cardy and family - who we don't envy doing the next leg to NZ immediately. How's the jet lag guys? They ended up being only a couple of rows behind us on the plane. Lovely chatting NZ emigration en route - hope we get to meet up with you again in NZ!
Having a quiet day today, Gemma and Cameron have caught up on some sleep and hopefully will fully acclimatise soon (I'm not going to enjoy the 4am mornings for long!). We're off to the swimming pool soon then maybe the zoo tomorrow.
Will update you all when we get to NZ next week.
