Another step in the de-junking of the Norrie household before we head off to NZ pastures new.

Yesterday we had a garage sale. For anybody who's got some 'junk' to throw out it's well worth while considering having a sale.

I printed out a handful of flyers and posted them through letter boxes in our road only. Put up a poster on the lamp post outside our house.

It was due to kick off at 10 o'clock yesterday morning, by 9.30 folks were arriving. In the end we closed the gates to keep them out until we had finished 'setting up'.

At 10 we let them in - it was like a mad house !! A steady stream of folks leaving with armfuls of our junk, it was amazing.

We ended up making 166.00 - for a load of rubbish which we were going to take to the local tip.

The place now looks much tidier, it's a great feeling too. My advice ... JUST DO IT.

WTG Diny. Not quite enough to buy you a couple of First class upgrades, but £166 will sre buy a slap up celebration dinner when you get there.

Thanks for the tip Diny, :P I was planning on having a few car-boot's but have a great deal of stuff to transport (hence can't do it all on one day) - a garage sale is a good idea - cuts out having to load/unload the car too!

Hi All,
Diny - well done !!
We did a car boot made £60+ and it was a particulary slow sale - not advertised well etc so we're hoping to do maybe another and de-junk.
Unfortunately we live on a new estate and i don't think a garage sale would attract much attention really especially with the useless junk we've got to sell too :eek
Got the flu so keeping post short see you all later
love linda x

According to Nzis web site, if you have had any strain of influenza in the last six months, you have to have an extra medical and could have to wait up to another year before going into NZ.

Hi Wilson. Hope you are well. Our plans are on hold for a little while as eldest son has decided to get married April 05. Once that little event is down and dusted we will get things moving properly.
Cheers!
