I recently got back from a trip to New Zealand and I want to send some thank you gifts back to the relatives that I visited. Traditionally my family always brings Canadian maple syrup and this time I brought some Niagara ice wines too.

What other products would make good gifts that I could send in the mail? The suggestions don't have to relate to Canadian stuff - just products that are relatively expensive or hard to find in New Zealand.

You've probably read this on the forum already, but both new books and makeup are very expensive in New Zealand. Look at Whitcoull's bestsellers (http://www.whitcoulls.co.nz/bestsellers.asp?storeurl=whitcoulls) - $75 hardbacks and up to $45 paperbacks! And a Revlon blush or lipstick available in the US for $7 - $9 is $27 in NZ. (Not complaining, just thinking those might make good gifts for someone in NZ.) :)

Then again, maybe sending makeup would be taken the wrong way. :p

Is perfume more expensive in NZ? One of my older cousins like perfume.

Now I've stopped smoking I get rellies to bring me my Issey Miyake (l'eau de) - if I remember correctly it costs around £45 / 100ml in the UK, here in NZ it costs anything from $150 - $180 and in duty free it's around $130 - $140.

So it's slightly more expensive for that particular one.... not sure about USA comparisons though.

I think they'd rather I kept smoking as 200 ciggies was cheaper - although apparently I do smell nicer :laugh

Yeah - perfume makes me sneeze too. I was talking about how copious amounts of perfume make my nose itch when my cousin mentioned likes to wear perfume. Foot in my mouth again.

Are photograph albums expensive like regular books?

I'd like to ask if I can get the Braun Independant gas (Curling tongs) and Dylon fabric dye and if yes are they expensive?
