Hi All,

We went to the Expo in London yesterday and it just fuelled my enthusiasm for getting over there. Listening to the accents, seeing details of areas, job prospects etc.

My husband named dropped to a company he is applying to and there ears pricked up. Ian used to work with this guy and he is moving back to NZ. He even went to his leaving do the night before we went.

Things are looking up trouble is it maybe Aickland or Welly not our 1st choice really :(

Beggars can't be choosers I suppose.

anybody else go??

Jo

Hi Jo,

We went (I was at the starting blocks at 9.30 ready to find NZIS as I'd heard its difficult to get to speak to them). We had some great news whilst we were there - so I'm on cloud 9.

We were going to apply for work visas & permits (then residency once we'd arrived) but 2 of the NZIS staff said that since my partner has a job in OSL and it wasn't starting until January and that we'd done a bit of groundwork getting Police certs & medicals underway we could apply for residency and most likely to get PR before we go! So EOI submitted... :nice1

Was really useful for information on setting up bank a/c from UK

We met a lovely lady at Postively Wellington Business who gave me her phone number (we're planning on relocating to the suburb where she lives) and told me to give her a call I got homesick - how nice!

Just 3 months of stress to go! :(

Hi Jo

I agree, the shows are a good session in getting re-focused.

It's great to talk to people who are so enthusiastic about where they live, imagine an Expo the other way round... :no

We also found out some good info and inspiration to take a look around New Plymouth and Hamilton when we are doing some 'informal' visits in January. So it's a great way to open up areas of NZ that aren't sold in the guidebooks.

:nice1
