I was quoted £900 at the Manchester Expo, yes they need chipping all vacinations up do date etc....hope that helps (my heart wants to take tommy (ginger tom) but he has settled at my Mil's so I am going to leave him to start with, when the boys go in September I will have another think about it, But I have seen Heathrow, and seen some of the animals that travel - doesnt look that comfortable, looks very scary and noisy so I dont think I could put him through that for MY comfort - I have to think of HIS comfort first :( (ohh waffling - sorry having an emotional weekend, they have started to come and go now that its getting closer to going) anyway off to pick up granson and go see eldest son----he is drifting off into his own life! all I get is a walk in a park (but he just wants his washing doing really :laugh )

We bought our cat out! Around GBP900 but she was in Golden Arrows care for 3 weeks which that included. We had a place for our cat to go to but in the end the children wouldn't let her go anywhere except with us .. so .. as she has been part of our lives for 8 years at the time she came too. Shes part of the family! When we collected her it was a very happy cat and the quietest ride in the car ever for her - she normally screams in the car!!
But yes - what I could have done with GBP900!!!

We shipped both our boys out for $725.00 for the pair with Animal Airlines. They arrived two days later having gone via Lax.
They were fine the other side and we kept them in for the first couple of weeks once they got here to settle them in and after that they've been sweet as!
Alot of organisation what with tests and stuff goes on at least a couple of months before but all the hard work is soooo worth it...I believe it helped us settle more quickly having our boys here, but I can see other peoples points of view.
If you need anymore specifics drop us a PM and I'll let you know a little more in depth.
Cheers

We shipped both our dogs, two male German Shepherds (big dogs even by male German Shepherd Standards)
Golden Arrow, wonderful company (they are a little old fashioned, letters are typed on a type writer and everything is very formal). They did however take excellent care of our dogs. This cost a small fortune, the cost is relative to the size of your pet!
We are in the process of sending our old moggi out here now, he is around 12 and a real mean old man. (I guess he has to be to stay the boss with the competition he has)
Moving a cat is simpler than moving a dog, there are fewer tests and you are faced with a fraction of the cost. (you do need samples of cat poo, not easy if you don’t have a litter tray!)
The price mentioned here for a cat (£900) is accurate. I know it sounds insane spending £900 on a cat (which is why I haven’t mentioned the price to move the dogs). I understand the point of view that it’s too much money to spend, and an unfair trauma for your pet.
To be honest, now I’m here, now we have our pets around us, knowing they were scared by the trip, knowing how much it costs would I do it again?
Oh Yes, I’d rather leave everything I owned in the UK and bring the cat – dogs than leave them behind. They enjoy it here so much too, and are so valuable for helping you settle in
Shove the cat in a box and bring her along, you’ll miss her if you don’t, she may just save you one of those homesick trips, the ones that see you relocating back to the UK for 6 months, now that’s going to cost you a lot more than £900
Bring the Moggi and enjoy her company, Bob
Cat due in around 14 days, will stick a pic on when he gets here

Hi Bob,
Certainly was, we flew via Singapore, the boys via LAX, together we circumnavigated the globe..hehe.
From LAX, they came via Auckland and then down to us at Welly via Biplane!
