As some of you may know I went with a emigration company to sort out my application. What a big mistake on my behalf. Don't want to get into too much detail as the company in question monitors this forum.
Anyway they was meant to put our EOI in but never, we asked for our money back but they refused. We had to go to court to get our money back and after 8 weeks of fighting on Saturday we had a big cheque drop though our letterbox (as a gesture of good will).
I'm off to Christchurch this Sunday for a holiday and a job interview hopefully I will have good news

CONGRATULATIONS! WELL DONE! AND GOOD LUCK FOR THE TRIP
nice to see that you were able to get some action, and a result, hope the people who thought they could get away with shoddy services are seeing that us 'little' people can do it without their help...so they'd better get off their a"£&s and offer a 'service' for their astronomical prices!

Brilliant news !!!!!! Those immigration agencies are a load of tosh, you say the one in question lookst at this forum ....... probably looking up answers to questions they don't know.
I've never heard a good thing said about those agencies. Are there any success stories out there?

Well done Matt on seeing that through. :raebanana:raebanana
I've never seen anything good about agencies either. Matt's experience just reinforces my view that they are a waste of time and a rip off.
Enjoy SI and good luck with the job interview. :nice1 Let us know how you get on.

Well done matt - nice to see that the sharks can't always win. And yes, I can say it, because that is what they are, a bit like estate agents eh Diny! :laugh
Only know of success stories when there are rules to be "bent".
Enjoy your trip.

Yep, that's pretty much what I've been seeing... or preying on peoples' perception that it's a complex process... not saying it's easy, but with forums like this it can be....

i echo what others have said above - you can find out more from this forum, the immigration website and the leaflets that come through with your ITA than you can from these sharks. I hope they are reading this!!!!
I hope also that this thread gives those contemplating applying for PR the confidence to go ahead and DIY. These companies don't find the paperwork you need - they just tell you what you need to find. A search on this forum and a call to NZIS can tell you what need without parting with a dollar/pound.
I haven't ever used these services by the way, just a common sense response i'm giving above.
Long live the forum!!!!

Well done Matt,
It goes to show that these 'agencies' prey on peoples uncertainty. Basically if many can learn from your story then it's one worth all the trouble you have gone through.
Moral of this tale: if you can read and write you can apply for PR etc yourself.
Agencies are worse than estate agents!!!

Good on you!
I have found throughout our planning and aplications over the last few months that the more I put in other peoples hands the MORE stressed I became! It's not always easy to completely trust some of these companies.
If you want something done properly do it yourself :nice1
