I personally find it difficult to understand why a recruitment agency would want to charge the job seeker.

Surely the prospective employer would pay the agency to find them suitable applicants.

Just my opinion............

Thanks....looks like we threw away 297NZ$... I thought they might be helpfull but actually thinking again they were friendly and nice but gave no details about future steps, fees and else involved... :uhoh
So after all no one got nothing good from Keith is this right?

We stayed away from anyone wanting to charge us for finding a job.

All the other agencies charge the company that recruits you - which is how it should be imho.

Buyio-

You are likely to find that getting a job here when you dont have a visa is very difficult. But its NOT impossible. Many agencies wont really do anything for you anyway - but get listed with them and PUSH them. It will probably be very hard work (I made my husband take 2 months off from trying to get a job at one point).

Dont give up - it CAN BE DONE.

:nice1

Thanks Avalon...we already know how hard it is to get a job without being there and not having a visa. I think my hubby has at least 100 polite no's from agencies and employers :laugh a real collection.
Thank you all for this forum, I was already giving up. But your advices are very helpfull. If other people made it, so should we. :nice1

Just wanted to share with you our experience about NewJobZ, in case someone is interested in such services :uhoh
We have paid the initially fee of 297USD (before reading on this forum about other people experiences), so we said why not? we already paid and we wont see our money back, so let's give them a chance.
There are more than 2 months since our initial payment. In that time we have received few emails with a lot of commecial in them "congratulations, you are so close to move to NZ etc etc" and others, but no serios reply on the job hunting matter.
Now a few days ago we have received another email from them saying again "congratulations, you are so very lucky, we have decided to accept your full membership, but..." :laugh incredible what this means: we "still" have to pay now 2997$ and after the job offer another 3000$ :laugh I am wondering how much will cost the employer in this case :D
We were sooo amused about how incredible are things...it seems there really are people benefiting from other people dreams.
Anyway, it was our risk and we lost, nothing to complain about, but I thought about sharing it with you, maybe someone ready to make the move will read our experience first.

My thoughts exactly - use seek.co.nz or jobstuff, they advertise loads of jobs.
