hi folks, we are planning to come over to Wellington area in december for 3 weeks and need to know cheapest way of staying? hotel, motel, apartment? any help would be appreciated, thanks a lot. :)

I guess back packers would be cheapest and there seem to be at least eight in CBD plus YHA.

What do you need, city or burbs, family house or apartment?

so we need at least a family room with a bit of space and a shower or bath.

have a look on www.bbh.co.nz and also do a search for campsites in wellington area, sometimes these sites have cabins which would probably suit a family too. I would point out tho that you have asked about cheap and are then talking about space and an ensuite and while I know that everything is relative those two comodities may cost more.
