Just a thought,
Are we allowed to take prams/pushchairs with us on the aeroplane, even though they won't be "steam cleaned" etc as per the MAF type instructions (Or have we got the MAF rules wrong?- we've been told by movers that everything that has touched the ground outside needs steam cleaning)
Cheers if anyone knows!

Yes you are allowed to take the pushchair on the plane with you.
Just as long as it isn't really muddy you won't have a problem.
We bought an umbrella stroller just beforehand as we knew we could have right up until we boarded the plane. My three wheeler went in the container fully cleaned, ready for the MAF inspection, which never happened.

I've heard that things are ok if they are clean, but steam cleaning everything seems to go overboard. Just from what I've read, so hopefully others will help you.

its mainly for actual particals of soil or vegitation they are after, not so much microscopic bits of dust etc.

When we went over in January, kev had to take his crash helmet, which we obviously carried in our hand luggage (have you tried packing round something that shape???). He races on shale tracks in the uk and as you can imagine, it was totally blathered in mud. We scrubbed it clean before we left, declared it as we were going through, telling them we had cleaned it, they never even looked!!
Just make sure it's had a good clean before you go and as the kiwis say...
she'll be right!!! :laugh
