Has anyone had carpets laid in NZ? Looks like it's about $100 - $130 / sqm including laying/travel/rip up/levelling etc. Is that about right - seems a lot to me....

I thought this last time i visited ----- HOW MUCH !!!!!!
But my family explained its not per sq meter , its per meter of the roll - that is it might be a 5 m wide roll & you buy it by the length .
did that make sence ? i've had a long day .

Can't comment on carpets but we had a new vinyl floor put down in the bathroom. Quite a big room (approx 5m x 4m). To have the vinyl supplied, delivered and fitted (including a lining) it cost $1350.
We found this expensive compared to what we paid for a similar room back in the UK but are aware that we shouldn't compare.
Using the wonderful power of hindsight we wish we'd bought a few lengths of vinyl and shipped them over here.

What a great idea Diny. Can't bring the paint, so I'll do the next best thing. :nice1
I'll know next week when the quotes come back if there's any extra room in the container. ;) Let me know !!!

Thanks for that! We spent ages in the shop and the (British) salesperson didn't at any time tell us that! Our quotes make a lot more sense now! :nice1
