We went to London last week to submit our application, the girl said that as we had a job offer and a case officer we would find out early this week how long its likely to take, has anyone contacted the CO before they were contacted by them?, the waiting is a nightmare :laugh.
Im not wanting to rock the boat with NZIS but id like to know sooner rather than later :uhoh

I don't think it would be rocking the boat.

Lets face it, you need to know a.s.a.p. There are confirmations of start date to NZ employer to do (can't do that 'til you know when you can go ), tickets to book, arrangements to make - so much to organise..........

All you are asking for is a little hint - not too much to ask in my opinion.

Let us know how you get on.

Hi Albert

I was getting quite stressed about not knowing how long things are going to take. I planned to do the work visa to get me out there quickly, and the ITA in parallel, and I intend to submit that this week.

When I submitted the work visa application, they said it could take up to two weeks, this was getting me down not knowing, but two days later I got a call saying it was ready. I asked them how long the ITA would take and they said about four weeks after submission, with a job offer.

During the period of uncertainty, I was worried about some of the medical issues and all the preparation that I still needed to do here that was dependent on the visa. It was all causing me stress as I was fearful about outcomes, so I emailed and then telephoned my case officer, even though he could not promise me anything. They do try to manage peoples expectations, by not making promises they cannot keep. The CO was very supportive, and he understood the pressures. Whilst this may have not got me very far, atleast I felt, I had done everything I could.

Perhaps give your CO a call on Friday, say sorry to bother you, realise your busy etc, but someone said we would get an idea on timescales etc? Or you could say to the CO you just wanted to say hello, as you will probably be speaking with them eventually anyway.

Good Luck!

Hi again, we received the standard letter in the post late morning and all it said was that a case officer would be assigned as we had a job offer and that it would take between 1 & 3 months to process, 1 good thing tho was that they will contact us if they have any concerns (rather than just reject it).
Think i'll wait untill friday like you suggest rabbit to contact them :nice1
