Hi everyone,
Well the cat protection lady came today to collect one of our cats Tigger, he is only 3 years old, so shouldn't have a problem finding new home. Our two girls Lucy and Guiness are staying with us until we have completion date on house as they are old and it will be less stress on them. So I am feeling a bit sad at the moment :( :(

Hi Pam

I'm sorry you are feeling a bit down about you're kitty.
Just keep thinking that you have made the decision in their best interest and that the cat protection people will ensure that he goes to a good home where he will be loved and cared for.

Perhaps you could invest in a Tigger lookalike when your find a home in NZ??

Hi Pam

I know exactly how you are feeling :( . We had 2 cats, 1 ginger (George) and 1 tortishell (BJ). I was worried about finding nice homes for them, I found a nice home for George 3 weeks ago and he seems ok, he was the young one, BJ who is 14 is going to my partners sisters this week :( who also has an old cat so she will hopefully be ok. I was so upset when we took George to his new home, I cried for a few days :wah.

I know we have made the right choice in leaving them behind, I couldnt put them through the flights etc (I am bad enough with flying!!!) I would just worry about them.

I sympathise with cat owners, our 3 cats - Bobbins is going with his sister back to my parents, Roger & Molly are two rescued cats like battling lovers, will be living with neighbours here - (their kids love em, they practically live there anyway :laugh )

But Bobbins will be living with us at parents waiting for our flights on New Years eve - hopefully he'd have settled in.

You know it will all be worth it in the end. I know how you feel :( :wah the animals are hard to leave behind, but think of the exciting future that you are making possible for your family.

What did the kids think when Tigger went?

Take Care and keep smiling :P

Hope the house sale going through ok.

I feel so sorry for people who know they have to leave their pets. :no

For anybody else - my Moxie is just over 2 now and he survived the flights just fine and is absolutely loving his life here. He managed to stare down the next door cat today, who turned tail and left Moxie to his territory. These UK cats are tough you know :laugh

Pam,
I know how you have agonised over your cats
Ali and I did the same . unfortunately all of ours are over 6years old and Molly in particular has a very timid temperament and probably wouldn't last the journey.
It is a tough decision leaving part of your family behind but they will find new homes and be loved immensely as anyone going to the protection league has to pay and therefore really want the cat!

Keep your chin up and support the kids as best you can - we know how you feel :?

Love
Linda xx
