Hello everybody had my first bit of bad luck in NZ today . Hope its my last. Rented a people carrier for move to cambridge and picked it up on beach road Auckland ,heading down fanshawe street tried to stop for red light missed brake as it was in different position to my normal car and BANG!! hit front car and bounced into back one . called 111 as i thought one of my girls neede to go to hospital so got police and ambulance and a $150 dollar fine for failing to stop short. People carrier was a real mess, but we were all ok didnt need ambulance. Had to pay $750 excess didnt think that was too bad and hire guy was fine let me take another vehicle. Not very popular with other half at moment!! Cheers Paul :wah

Paul,
I echoe what everyone else has said.
You're all ok, thats what matters. As for the car, its only abit of tin and plastic and can be replaced.

Paul glad to hear all is ok, but i am wondering. Brake in the wrong position? You sound like a certain Kev Smith(marcia's OH) when he failed to win the World 240's here in January. He blamed the brake, clutch and accelerator being in the wrong position for his struggles and woes:laugh

No offence Kev and Marcia :D

Anyway hope you have an uneventful trip down into the Waikato this weekend bud.

Catch ya soon

Glad you are all OK. Thats the main thing after all. Did they give you a replacement car with the brake in the right place this time? :laugh

They gave me a replacement and thats fine but the one i crashed the brake wasnt in the centre of the pedals it was over to the far right and there was some kind of pipe next to it i put my fooyt on the pipe realised it was wrong but too laate not time to react. When i buy my car here and go for insurance will i have to declare this ? dont knoow with being a rental but suppose so. bang goes my no claims . cheers everyone paul :wah
