Whats the water like in your part of New Zealand ?

I have always lived in soft water areas (both here in the UK and abroad) so although I am of aware of the problems that hard water can cause, I have never had first hand experience of them and quite frankly, I wouldn't know where to start or how to cope with the limescale problems. I'm thinking here about shower heads, washing machines etc...

If your water is hard and you have a hot-tub (yes, I'm DETERMINED to have one, interest rates and OH permitting !!) would hard water have an adverse affect or do you just use some kind of tablet etc?

:cheers

Could send our kids around Julie for that "whirlpool effect", especially after a platefull of green lentil lasagne :)

Had me worried there for a minute Jool's, especially under the Good's and Service's banner:uhoh :laugh

As for your question, i don't think i have noticed any difference. Must admit though i haven't been drinking as much as i did in the UK, but that's more for the fact that it doesn't run as cold out of the tap as it did back home.

There is a water softener/conditioner you can buy to chuck in the spa pool.

I don't use it in ours as we have no need to the water, seems pretty soft here in welly, compared to ours in the UK.

No scale in the kettle or water marks either.
