Work to Residence offered. I have 3 months to submit passport. Two year visa. Condition is to find employment in these two years and let NZIS know after three months of working at which time PR will be confirmed. Not a bad deal !!!.
Sincere thanks to all the forum members; learnt a lot, infact more from this forum than from my own research--though I have not been to NZ, I did get a very good picture of NZ from this forum.

Well done Doc !
I came out on WTR in August and just got PR on Friday - so know it's possible to do...
Now means that my other half has permant and indefinate work opportunities too - rather than Working Holiday Visa - and she's a midwife.
Echo what you say about the forum, as we hadn't been out here before either and learnt enough to know what we were letting ourselves in for !
Congratulations !

Great news for you, doesn't matter if it's not exactly what you had set your sights on (know you wanted PR) but its a means to an end, and it gets you in there!
Good luck, hope it all works out great for you!

Have I miss-understood WTR, as I thought you needed an employer to sponsor you via this route. I didn't think you could get a WTR visa without having employment lined up?
Thanks

Yes that's right. WTR route usually needs an accredited employer or through talent route. --
The other category is like the usual PR application process. However, if someone applies for PR and if their profession involves registration/licensing, they will be given WTR (which is different from the other WTR's--as this WTR will be converted to PR once someone obtains registration with the professional body and working in NZ for 3 months--at the end of the three month employment period, all we have to do is provide NZIS evidence of employment and copy of registration). This is the usual scenario. Having said that, I think it also depends on the discretion of visa officer. Some people may be given PR instead of WTR though their occupation invloves registration (discretion of visa officer).
