Hi everyone, we've been viewing this site for a few months now and have learnt sooooo much, which we are very grateful for. My partner has an interview in Christchurch in August (only time we could go) and we are so looking forward to going. We are going to hire a motor home and do as much touring as 2 weeks will allow. We love reading all your posts, the good and the bad, and we still haven't been put off!! Hopefully he'll get the job and then go through the "traumatic" immigration process. I have 2 kids to a previous marriage so I know there will be problems getting "permission" to take them. We will also struggle to prove that we are living together as my partner has his own house but we have lived together for 2 years, scraping bits of evidence together now!! My eldest, who is 15, would not even discuss moving to NZ until last weekend, I don't know what has changed his mind but now he is very interested, kids eh!! He is a qualified football referee, does anyone know if there any football leagues in Christchurch which he could referee? For anyone who's interested it's pouring down with rain and cold in north east England!!

Yes, I have to completely agree! I'm so busy at work with coursework marking etc.......but I still have to find time to go on every day and see what’s going on! Just nosy I suppose. :o
From what I can gather from my research he won’t have any problems with the football aspect either.

Good luck with the interview. Don't worry - campervans come fully equipped with gas heaters !!!!!!
Hope all turns out OK for you and that the road ahead isn't too rocky.

Deborah, and why didn't you tell me you were in Christchurch, eh???
Welcome Sonia & Derek. We've been in Chch for 4 weeks now and all is good - I'm sure you'll love it. It was 25 degrees today and brilliant sunshine (although it was blooming cold last week).
Good luck
